MRS JOSEPHINE ABBAS DAYILIM BOWS OUT FROM ACTIVE SERVICE AS NAFDAC DIRECTOR, NORTH WEST ZONE

The end of a thing is said to be better than the beginning. This statement captures it all about the life and story of a quintessential, humble and result oriented leader Mrs Josephine Abbas Dayilim who started work from the humble beginning and rose through the ranks to the position of Director, North West Zone of the National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).

Her's is indeed a story of a committed, disciplined, dedicated loyal and humble servant leader who squandered her life to ensure quality service delivery to Nigerans from NAFDAC under her watch.

Mrs Dayilim officially bows out from active service on the 17th of August, 2024 having attained the mandatory 35 years in service. She was celebrated by her colleagues, stakeholders and partners of NAFDAC and her leader the Director General of NAFDAC Prof. Mojisola Christiana Adeyeye who presented a special award for outstanding performance to her on the 14th August, 2024. Also, three other organizations and stakeholders for human capacity development and effective fight against fake, spurious, counterfeit and expired drugs, food and other substandard regulated products presented awards to her to show how grateful they were working with her.

Mrs Dayilim expressed deepest gratitude to God for seeing her through these years recalling with nostalgia the people she met in the course of her service at NAFDAC which some are not alive today. She equally acknowledged the role of her family and friends who stood by her through prayers, advise and encouragement. She prayed God to bless them abundantly.

It is left to be seen what becomes of Mrs Dayilim having retired but not tired as she remains healthy, hearty, very vibrant and dogged even at retirement. Notably, Mrs Dayilim has expressed readiness to give back to her community in the areas of business coaching, providing guidance and consultancy services to business owners who needs NAFDAC Services, and leading advocacies for the girl- child, and vulnerable children who are victims of various societal ills.

*APC TO PARTICIPATE IN THE* *FORTHCOMING LOCAL* *GOVERNMENT* *ELECTIONS.*

The APC in Plateau State has agreed to participate in the forthcoming Local government Council election.

The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the Party, held in Jos today.

The meeting agreed that all things being equal, and the State Independent Electoral Commission willing to be impartial, the Party will take part in the elections.

Accordingly the meeting, the dates for the primaries and the process were adopted in line with the Party's Constitution.

It also fixed realistic fees for the purchase of forms and express of interests taking into consideration the economic challenges of the times.

The meeting further decided that the conduct of the primaries should be as democratic as possible in order to avoid rancour and resentment within the Party.

The sale of forms is to start on Wednesday 24th of the Month.

The meeting which was presided over by the State Chairman of the Party Hon.Rufus Bature, had in attendance,members of the State Working and Executive Committees, Elected Local government Council Chairmen, as well as Party Chairmen, and Members of the Plateau State House of Assembly.

The Youths are often regarded as the leaders of tomorrow. Contrary to this assertion is the fact that the youths are leaders of today also. This is crucial that they are given a platform to showcase their leadership skills and make a positive impact in their communities. Hon Kromtit Pankyes Pansat is aiming to do just that as he vies for the position of Chairman in the forthcoming Local Government election. He is a young and dynamic leader who has already proven himself to be a capable, effective and worthy representative of the people of Panyam. As a former councilor, he worked tirelessly to address the needs and concerns of his constituents particularly the youths and those in vulnerable circumstances.

To the esteemed members of the Pyem traditional council and the Pyem nation,

I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of HRH Alh Tanko Adamu, the district head of Gindiri. His loss is truly a great one, as he was not just a leader, but a hero, mentor and a bridge builder in every sense of the word. HRH Alh Tanko Adamu dedicated his life to promoting peace, unity, and harmony within the community, and his impact will be felt for generations to come.

His wise counsel and elderly advice were invaluable to all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his legacy of fostering understanding and cooperation will be surely missed. In this time of mourning, I offer my heartfelt condolences to all those who have been touched by his kindness and leadership.
