To the vibrant, resilient, and hopeful Youths of Plateau State, Nigeria, and the world:

Today, as we celebrate International Youth Day, I celebrate YOU the energy, the ideas, and the future of our nation.

You are not just the leaders of tomorrow. You are the changemakers of today.
Your creativity is redefining industries. Your courage is speaking truth to power. Your compassion is healing communities. And your determination is building the Plateau and Nigeria we all dream of.

In a time of challenges, let no one tell you that your voice is too small. It is your voice that will shape policies. It is your hands that will build businesses, farms, and technologies. It is your hearts that will promote peace, unity, and love across every tribe and tongue.

I encourage you to
A. Believe in yourself. Your potential is limitless.

So, according to Sheikh Yahaya Jingir, a Muslim-Muslim ticket is now a census?

This is where political argument becomes dangerous nonsense.

Sheikh Yahaya Jingir reportedly says Muslims should continue supporting the Muslim-Muslim ticket because it proves that Muslims are more in numbers than Christians in Nigeria, and then urges Muslims to “show infidels their limit.”

But here's the reality, a Muslim-Muslim ticket does not put food on a Muslim family's table. It does not secure a kidnapped Muslim farmer. It does not give a Muslim child a good school. It does not reduce the price of fuel, food or medicine. It does not create jobs. It does not fix a broken road or keep electricity on.

More troubling is the language of “showing infidels their limit.”

Who exactly are these “infidels” in Nigeria?

Your fellow citizens? Your neighbours? The people whose taxes help fund the government? The Christians who have voted for Muslim candidates? The Muslims who reject religious politics? The millions of Nigerians who simply want competent leadership regardless of whether the candidate prays in a mosque or a church?

Nigeria is not a religious battlefield where one faith must establish its superiority over another.

And frankly, if a Muslim-Muslim ticket is supposed to be defended on the basis of competence, justice, security, economic progress and good governance, then defend it on those grounds.

But if the argument has now become “we are more numbers, therefore we should dominate,” then we have moved from democracy into religious arithmetic.

Nigeria belongs to Muslims and Christians, and also to Nigerians who do not subscribe to either faith.

Nobody needs to be “shown their limit” because of the religion they profess.

What Nigerians should be shown is good governance, justice, security, jobs, affordable food, functioning hospitals and schools, and a government that treats every citizen as equal.

That is the kind of majority that matters in a democracy.

Not the majority in a mosque.

Not the majority in a church.

The majority of Nigerians who want a country that works.

Chief Amb. Dr. Mark Adams Maimako was in Kombun to attend the funeral service of Late Mr. Danjuma Ismail, where he joined the bereaved family, friends and members of the community in mourning and prayer.

He also paid a condolence visit to the District Head of Bungha following the passing of his father, Da Dikam Idi (Burum) Denan, who was laid to rest.

In the course of the visit, Chief Maimako also extended his condolences to Alhaji Garba Damladi (Amfani) on the loss of his wife, Mrs. Benmun Garba Danladi, and to the Wamyil family over the passing of their son, Late Mr. Fwangmun Bernard Wamyil.

In each of these moments of loss, he shared in the grief of the families and offered prayers for the departed, while asking God to grant those left behind the strength and comfort to navigate the difficult days ahead.

For Chief Maimako, standing with people in moments of joy and sorrow is part of what community means. He reaffirmed his commitment to remain with the families in prayer, solidarity and support during this period of mourning.

May God grant eternal rest to the departed and comfort every grieving family.

CHIEF AMB DR. MARK ADAMS MAIMAKO, a compassionate and grassroots leader, on behalf of his political associates, visited Low Cost, Jos to commiserate with the family of Late Danjuma Shaibu Ismail.

In this moment of grief, Chief. Maimako extended his heartfelt condolences to the immediate family, friends, and the entire kombun community. He prayed that the Almighty God grants the departed soul peaceful rest, and that the family is comforted and strengthened by God’s love during this difficult time.

He also encouraged the bereaved to find solace in faith, in one another, and in the support of well-meaning people around them. May God uphold you, heal every heart, and give you the fortitude to bear this loss.

Today, I join family, friends, associates, and well-wishers across Nigeria in celebrating Distinguished Senator Dr. Jonah David Jang, CON, on the joyous occasion of his 80th birthday and the launch of his autobiography, Airman to Politics: My Life.

Reaching eighty years is a remarkable blessing. To do so after decades of distinguished service to Plateau State and our nation makes this milestone even more meaningful.

The launch of your autobiography is more than the presentation of a book; it is the preservation of history. It offers present and future generations the opportunity to learn from a life defined by service, leadership, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to the common good.

True leadership is measured not only by the offices we occupy, but by the lives we influence and the legacy we leave behind. Your journey stands as a valuable contribution to our collective history and a source of inspiration for those who aspire to serve with purpose and integrity.

WHEN DID WE STOP BELIEVING IN JUSTICE?

Yesterday, Ibrahim "Ibee" was laid to rest.

His passing leaves behind grief for a family, sorrow for his real friends, and a question that every one of us must answer:

When did we stop believing in justice?

How did we become a society where an accusation is enough to pronounce a sentence? Where suspicion outweighs evidence? Where anger replaces reason, and violence takes the place of the law?

A civilized society is not defined by how quickly it punishes, but by how faithfully it protects justice. The law exists for moments like these—to separate fact from assumption, truth from rumour, and guilt from innocence.

When we abandon due process, we endanger everyone. We create a society where anyone can become a victim of suspicion, misinformation, or the emotions of the moment.

Today, it is someone else's son.

Tomorrow, it could be your brother.

One day, it could be your own child.

Jungle justice is not justice. It is the complete breakdown of justice. It robs victims of truth, denies the accused a fair hearing, and leaves families with a lifetime of grief over mistakes that can never be undone.

As we mourn Ibrahim, let us also mourn the gradual erosion of our respect for the rule of law. Let his passing remind us that no allegation should ever be answered with violence, no crowd should ever replace the courts, and no human life should be reduced to the value of suspicion.

A nation that truly values justice does not ask, "Who should we punish?" It first asks, "What is the truth?"

May God grant Ibrahim eternal rest, comfort his family, and give us the wisdom to build communities where justice is guided by truth, compassion, and the rule of law—not by anger or fear.

Progress is rarely accidental. It is the outcome of vision, discipline, consistency, and the courage to keep moving even when the path is uncertain.

As we begin this new month, I encourage every young person, every professional, every entrepreneur, and every family to remain committed to purpose. Let us choose integrity over shortcuts, service over self-interest, and excellence over mediocrity.

STATEMENT OF COMMENDATION AND ENCOURAGEMENT

I extend my sincere commendation to the Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, for his purposeful leadership and unwavering commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of our dear state.

The events of the past week have once again demonstrated a government focused on meaningful development and people-centred governance. Among the notable milestones are:

- The commissioning of the Potato Tissue Culture Laboratory in Mangu, a landmark investment that will strengthen agricultural innovation, enhance food security, improve crop productivity, and create opportunities for farmers and young people.
- The flag-off of the subsidized fertilizer distribution programme, providing much-needed support to farmers and reinforcing the state's commitment to agricultural growth and economic resilience.
- The remodeling of the NYSC Orientation Camp, which provides a safer, more conducive environment for corps members and reflects the administration's investment in the future of our youth.
- The delivery of the Tudun Wada Water Project, a vital intervention that expands access to clean water, improves public health, and enhances the quality of life for residents.

These achievements are practical demonstrations of responsive leadership and a clear commitment to improving the lives of Plateau citizens. They reflect an administration that listens to the aspirations of the people and responds with impactful action.

As we continue on the path of progress, I urge all Plateau people and Nigerians to remain committed to peace, unity, and collective responsibility. Sustainable development can only thrive in an atmosphere of harmony, mutual respect, and shared purpose.

I also encourage our people to continue supporting policies and programmes that promote infrastructure development, economic growth, and social progress. As we look towards the future, I believe that continuity will enable the consolidation of these developmental gains. It is in this spirit that I encourage the good people of Plateau State to support the re-election of His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, in 2027, to further advance the vision of a more prosperous, peaceful, and united Plateau.

May God continue to bless Plateau State with peace, progress, and prosperity, and may He bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
