SSG COMMENDS SENATOR UBA SANI'S ₦34 BILLION RIGASA EROSION CONTROL PROJECT AS A LANDMARK ACHIEVEMENT

By Comrade Adams

The foundation of every prosperous society lies in its ability to protect lives, preserve the environment, and invest in sustainable infrastructure. This vision is being translated into reality by the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, whose administration has flagged off the ₦34 billion Rigasa Erosion Control Project in Rigasa, Igabi Local Government Area.

Designed to permanently address more than three decades of devastating erosion, the project will safeguard lives, restore degraded land, and protect critical infrastructure. It is expected to directly benefit over two million residents, while more than ₦2 billion has been earmarked for the compensation and resettlement of over 1,200 affected households, reflecting an administration that places the welfare of its people at the center of development.

The Secretary to the Kaduna State Government, Dr. Abdulkadir Mu'azu Mayere, has applauded Senator Uba Sani for initiating this landmark project, describing it as a bold investment in the future of Kaduna State and a clear demonstration of visionary, compassionate, and result-oriented leadership. This intervention reflects the administration's unwavering commitment to tackling longstanding environmental challenges, protecting vulnerable communities, and delivering sustainable development that will benefit generations to come.

The Rigasa Erosion Control Project stands as a lasting legacy of Senator Uba Sani's commitment to responsible governance, environmental protection, and the delivery of meaningful dividends of democracy to the people of Kaduna State.

Kaduna SSG Urges Citizens to Shun Gender Based Violence.

The Secretary to the Kaduna State Government, Dr. Abdulkadir Mu’azu Mayere, has urged citizens to shun gender-based violence.

Dr. Mayere said this during a one-day lecture organized by the Advocates For Violence Free Society And Peaceful Coexistence Initiative Nigeria (AVSAPCIN).

Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Special Duties, Mr. Augustine Godwin Alex, he stated in a goodwill message that the programme is both timely and relevant, as gender-based violence remains a significant challenge to social harmony, human dignity, and sustainable development.

He added that a stable society can only thrive when the rights of citizens are respected and protected, regardless of gender, age, or social status.

Dr. Mayere commended the organisers for creating a platform for dialogue, enlightenment, and collective action. He expressed hope that the discussions and recommendations from the lecture will contribute meaningfully to the promotion of justice, equality, peace, and security in communities. He encouraged all participants to engage actively and take the lessons learned back to their respective peers of influence.

He further noted that the Governor Uba Sani administration is highly committed to ensuring every citizen is given equal rights regardless of gender.

In attendance were several human rights organizations, community leaders, and students from public schools, among other participants.
