Happy Birthday to His Excellency, former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR. As a former Military Governor of the North Eastern State, first Governor of Borno State, former Federal Commissioner of Petroleum & Natural Resources, as well as the former Chairman of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and the Chairman of the Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF), your mark in Nigeria’s public service is evident to all. For many of us, you still symbolise the individual austerity and simplicity that is essential to public service and politics. As you turn 82, may Allah SWT protect, guide and bless you. Your recent strides in infrastructural development will always be commended by many of us. Today, we celebrate (among others), the initiation of the AKK Pipeline, the completion of the 2nd Niger Bridge, the PIA, CAMA, the revamping of the aviation industry and on a personal basis, the Bill, which many young politicians like myself are currently benefitting from.

event, which has the full backing of the Kano State government and Governor Abba Yusuf, aims to showcase the latest advancements in technology, innovation, promote technology, entrepreneurship, and digital solutions while fostering a spirit of innovation and collaboration to drive economic development in Northern Nigeria.

Prominent figures billed to speak at the festival include the Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi; President of Afreximbank, Benedict Oramah; Chief Executive Officer of Africa Finance Corporation, Sumaila Zubairu, and Founder of Outsource Global, Amal Hassan.

El-Rufai said the fair is a milestone event that highlights the incredible potential of Northern Nigeria in the technology and innovation sectors.

It is not in the constitution but I assure you, being foolish online is your fundamental human right. It is a right you must not let anyone deny you, especially now that X rewards it some money, however paltry. You are also responsible for ensuring your foolishness doesn’t encroach on other people’s rights. However, were it to, be certain to have the time and resources to defend yourself before the law. In case you don’t, do not expect that the crowd you were entertaining will be on hand to bail you out of the consequences of your foolishness. People enjoy the circus. They don’t go home wondering if the clowns are fine after the performance. Off the stage, you are on your own. People care about you only as much as you are on the stage. As soon as you are off, they are happy to enjoy the next act. They don’t forget you as much as the fact they are distracted by their own lives and the latest fool on the block. Once in a while, they will remember you. By then, chances are that you’d still be learning your lessons. But you may not even get the chance to come show the world that lessons have been learnt. You’d have pivoted into being a philosopher by then. But unfortunately, you wouldn’t have access to social media to teach us the vanities and lessons of life.

On the constitution, she defined it as a ‘collection of rules of government, which were nothing new, of course, but went back a long way. Some city states in Ancient Greece had enacted them in the seventh century BCE. Codes of written law emerged in different society earlier still. Slab of stone inscribed with the code of Hammurabi, ruler of Mesopotamia in what is now the Middle East, survive from before 1750 BCE. But such ancient texts were generally the work of single authors and potentates. Most were far more concerned to set out rules of conduct for subjects, and fearsome penalties for defying them, than to establish the curbs on those in authority or provide for individual rights. Moreover, most early codes and collections were not produced in large number or designed for a wide audience.’

Update: In the name of Allah SWT, the most Compassionate, the most Beneficent. Through lobbying and the generosity of some ranking Members, we have secured 78 more Solar Street Lights for Kaduna North. This will be deployed in the following areas.

1. Abuja Street, Kawo Ward (10)
2. Captain Kaura Street, Unguwar Dosa (5)
3. Baburawa Road, Kwaru Badarawa Ward (5)
4. Zungairu Road A & B Marafa, Kabala. (10)
5. Rimi Road, Kabala (10)
6. Jama’a Road, from the start of the road until the end, Unguwar Rimi, Gabasawa Ward (7)
7. Danja Road, Unguwar Sarki Ward. (10)
8. Lungun Kanawa, Unguwar Kanawa. (This is the area I forgot we paved and got interlocked while campaigning, CCO, posted this recently. (6)
9. Layin Maman Mu, former Commissioner of Women Affairs & Social Development, Hajiya Hafsah Baba, Unguwar Sarki. (5)

I am especially thankful to our leader, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, Speaker of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the amiable Chairman of House Committee on Appropriations, Hon. Abubakar Kabir Bichi. The people of Kaduna North will recall that exactly one week ago, I announced that in some days, we will begin the deployment of over 200 Solar Lights in some communities in Kaduna North. The areas stated were (I) Kawo Bridge. (While KDSG deployed streetlights under the bridge). None were deployed under the bridge. This is in Kawo Ward. (II) Kwaru Main Road. During the campaign, we worked to fix the water system of the community after 14 years of neglect. This is in Badarawa Ward. (III) Gulma Road, Layin Birai and Dekina Road, Unguwar Kudu. Gabasawa/Unguwar Rimi Ward. (IV) Kigo Road New Extension in order to connect it to Kabala Costain Road, Gaji and Kabala Ward. (VI) Sadiq Maman Lagos Street, Unguwar Shanu/Abakwa Ward. We have already deployed on this street but we did so via Abakwa. This time around, the lights will be deployed in Unguwar Shanu. A Friday mosque to be picked by the team in Unguwar Kanawa/Hayin Banki Ward and a Church to be picked in the same ward.
