As we commemorate Eid-ul-Mawlid, I join my Muslim brothers and sisters in Kaduna South Senatorial District and across Nigeriavin reflecting on the life, teachings, and enduring legacies of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

The Prophet’s life of humility, compassion, tolerance, and service to humanity remains a timeless guide for all of us. His example teaches us to love one another, to pursue justice, and to live in peace with our neighbours regardless of faith or background.

On this special occasion, I pray that the spirit of Eid-ul-Mawlid will inspire greater peace, compassion, unity, and hope in our communities, in Kaduna State, and in our dear nation Nigeria. May it also bring prosperity, healing, and blessings to every family.

I wish all our Muslim faithful a peaceful and joyous celebration.

Sunday Worship and a Time of Condolence

It was a deeply fulfilling Sunday as my wife and I joined the congregation of Living Faith Church, Sabon Tasha, Kaduna, for worship.

There is always something special about gathering in the presence of God. The worship, the Word, and the warmth of fellowship reminded us once again of His enduring faithfulness and of the strength, peace and hope we find when we place our trust in Him.

I was privileged to speak during the service, where I shared a few thoughts on the importance of unity, faith and service to humanity. I encouraged the congregation to continue praying for peace in Kaduna State and across Nigeria, while also recognising that prayer must be accompanied by responsibility and action.

As a nation, we have a duty to invest deliberately in our young people, through quality education, skills development and the cultivation of character and values. They are not merely the leaders of tomorrow, they are partners in building the Nigeria we desire today.

Following the service, I was joined by friends in paying a condolence visit to our elder statesman, General Zamani Lekwot (rtd), former Military Administrator of Rivers State, following the recent passing of his beloved son.

We prayed with Baba, offered words of comfort and assured him and his family of our love, prayers and solidarity at this difficult moment. Times of loss remind us of the importance of standing with one another, especially when the burden is heavy.

May Almighty God grant the departed eternal rest and grant General Lekwot and the entire family the strength, comfort and fortitude to bear this painful loss.

AN HONOUR AND A RENEWED CALL TO SERVICE

Earlier today, I was deeply honoured to receive the Award of Excellence from the Southern Kaduna Lawyers Forum (SKLF) during the Forum’s Annual General Meeting in Kaduna.

I am profoundly grateful for this distinguished recognition. It means a great deal to me, particularly because it comes from a community of professionals whose vocation is rooted in justice, integrity, advocacy and the rule of law.

I accept this honour with humility, but also with a deep sense of responsibility. I regard it not merely as an acknowledgement of what has been done, but as a renewed charge to do more in the service of our people.

Our society is passing through challenging times. The values that hold communities together, justice, fairness, peace, accountability and respect for the rule of law, must be continuously defended and strengthened. The legal profession has a particularly important role to play in this regard, and I commend the Southern Kaduna Lawyers Forum for its commitment to these enduring ideals.

As a public servant, I have always believed that leadership is, ultimately, about service. It is about giving voice to the voiceless, standing firmly for what is right, creating opportunities for our people, and working towards a society where every citizen can live with dignity, security and hope.

Southern Kaduna possesses enormous human, cultural and economic potential. Unlocking that potential will require our collective commitment to strengthening institutions, protecting justice, promoting peaceful coexistence and creating meaningful opportunities, particularly for our young people.

Lawyers therefore have a responsibility that extends beyond advocacy in the courtroom. They are also defenders of democratic values, champions of justice and guardians of the rule of law. Their contribution to building a fair, peaceful and accountable society is indispensable.

I am especially encouraged that this recognition comes from a professional body whose members understand deeply the importance of justice, good governance and the protection of fundamental values. I regard this award as an affirmation that public service must remain anchored in principle, courage, integrity and accountability.

I therefore dedicate this honour to the people of Southern Kaduna, whose resilience, courage and determination continue to inspire me. I also dedicate it to all those who believe that, despite the challenges we face, we can build a more peaceful, united and prosperous society.

To the leadership and members of the Southern Kaduna Lawyers Forum, I express my sincere appreciation for this honour. I assure you that I will regard it not as a conclusion, but as a renewed call to service and a greater responsibility to the people I represent.

May we continue to work together across professional, political, ethnic and religious lines to advance the cause of justice, peace, development and prosperity in Southern Kaduna and across Nigeria.

It was a beautiful day at the Royal House of Grace International, Yenagoa, as my family and I joined hundreds of well-wishers to witness love come full circle in the holy matrimony of Dr. Stephanie Ebidenere Diri and her heartthrob, Mr. Ballad Tamaradoubra Agbeyei.

I was deeply honoured to be present alongside my dear wife and Hon. Dan Amos, member representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency, to celebrate this sacred union.

Marriage is one of God’s greatest institutions, a covenant built on love, patience, commitment, and shared purpose. To witness two young people begin this journey with such joy, and with the prayers and blessings of family and community, is truly heartwarming.

To Dr. Stephanie and Ballad, May your home be a home of peace, laughter, and God’s abiding grace. May your love grow stronger with each sunrise, and may you be a source of blessing and light to each other, to your families, and to everyone around you.

In moments like this, we are reminded that love still triumphs, families are still being built, and there is so much hope for the future.

Once again, hearty congratulations to Governor Douye Diri and Agbeyei families. May this new chapter bring you unending joy, favour, and unity.

ON THE ATTACK ON NARIDON VILLAGE, KAURU LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA

I received with profound grief and deep concern the distressing news of the attack on Naridon Village in Kamaru Ward, Kauru Local Government Area, which tragically claimed the lives of innocent citizens and left several others injured.

My thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families and all those affected by this senseless act of violence. To the families who have lost their loved ones, I extend my deepest condolences. No words can adequately express the pain of losing a father, mother, child, or loved one in such tragic circumstances. I want you to know that you do not grieve alone. The pain and sorrow of Naridon are shared by all of us across Kaduna South Senatorial District.

I pray for the peaceful repose of the souls of those who lost their lives and for God to grant their families the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. To those who sustained injuries, I wish you a full and speedy recovery. May God grant you healing and renewed strength.

This latest attack is a painful reminder of the urgent need to strengthen the protection of our communities and safeguard the lives and livelihoods of our people. The recurring violence against innocent and hardworking citizens must not be allowed to become a part of our reality. Our people deserve to live, farm, raise their families, and pursue their livelihoods without the constant fear of violence.

I therefore call on our security agencies to intensify efforts to identify, apprehend, and bring the perpetrators of this heinous act to justice. The people of Naridon and other vulnerable communities deserve not only our sympathy but decisive and sustained action to guarantee their safety and security.

Let me assure our people of my unwavering commitment to working collaboratively with His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, the security agencies, traditional institutions, community leaders, and all relevant stakeholders to strengthen peace and security across our communities. We must continue to pursue every lawful and responsible avenue to end these senseless attacks and restore lasting peace to our communities.

I commend the Kaduna State Government for its swift response to this tragic incident and for directing the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (KADSEMA) to provide immediate relief and humanitarian assistance to the affected families. Such support is vital at this difficult time, and I encourage continued assistance to those who have been directly impacted.

I also appeal to our people to remain calm and vigilant, and to continue to cooperate with the security agencies by providing credible and timely information that may assist in preventing further attacks and bringing those responsible to justice.

At this difficult moment, our collective resolve must be to stand together, protect one another, and work tirelessly towards a safer and more peaceful Kaduna South.

May God comfort the bereaved families, heal those who have been injured, strengthen our communities, and grant eternal rest to the souls of the departed.
