*KSHC Projects Receive Legislative Backing as Assembly Committee Conducts Oversight Visit*

The Kano State House of Assembly Committee on Housing has conducted an extensive oversight tour of key housing projects under the Kano State Housing Corporation (KSHC), reaffirming its commitment to ensuring accountability, quality delivery, and timely completion of public housing initiatives across the state.

Led by the Committee Chairman, also a Member representing Kumbotso Constituency at the State Assembly, Hon. Mudassir Ibrahim Zawaciki, alongside other lawmakers who were saved as members in this committee.

The team inspected several ongoing and completed project sites, at Zoo Road Shopping Complex, Ja'oji Shopping Complex, Tarauni Shopping Complex others are Warri Road Shopping Complex in Sabon, Gold cost Road, Kabuga Shopping Complex and the ongoing permanent site of the Corporation at Kwankwasiyya city among others, the visit was accompanied by the Managing Director of the Kano State Housing Corporation (KSHC) Alh. Abdullahi Rabiu, Deputy MD Engr. Isyaku Umar Kwa and other key Directors of the Corporation.

According to the lawmaker the visit aimed to assess the level of work done, identify challenges, and strengthen collaboration between the Legislature and the Corporation for improved service delivery.

During the tour, the Committee expressed satisfaction with the progress recorded so far, noting that the projects demonstrate the State Government’s resolve to address housing deficits and provide dignified, affordable accommodation for the people of Kano.

The House Committee reaffirmed its readiness to support the Corporation through legislative backing, policy guidance, and timely interventions to ensure the successful completion of all ongoing projects.

The oversight visit forms part of the State Assembly’s mandate to monitor the implementation of government programs and guarantee that public resources are effectively utilized for the benefit of citizens, said the lawmaker.

Earlier, in his address the Managing Director of KSHC Alh Abdullahi Rabiu provide detailed briefings on each project, highlighting areas of achievement and constraints, including funding, contractors compliance, and project timelines. He appreciated the Committee’s oversight role and assured continued commitment to transparency, quality control, and adherence to approved standards.

*Environment staff urges to be more committed to duty - Dr. Dahir*

The newly appointed Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change Dr. Dahir Muhammad Hashim has urged staff of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change to step up efforts to ensure no stone leave unturned to make Kano more cleaner and greener.

The Commissioner made the disclosure today while addressing the Monmouth crowd who accompanied him to his new office as a commissioner.

He expressed delight for the warm reception accorded him by the staff of the Ministry and pledged to operate an open door policy for maximum collaboration and synergy.

Dr. Hashim who earlier expressed his gratitude to Allah (SWA) for witnessing and achieving this milestone and commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for finding him worthy in this capacity and pledged to work assiduously towards achieving the organizational goals.

The Commissioner further enjoined the head of various departments to come up with a progress report and mandate of their departments for tracking purposes and way forward he stressed.

Earlier, the Ag. Permanent Secretary who doubled as Director Admin and General Services Adamu Fate Jigaware restated readiness and willingness of the Ministry staff to support the Commissioner to succeed in his mandate.

Also speaking are the Chairman Dala local government area Hon. Surajo Imam and the Chairman NNPP Dala Alh. Dayyabu Ahmed Maiturare among others.

*Kano Govt. Unveil initiative to Collaborate with relevant association to improve living standard*

The Kano State Government said it's committed and working assiduously with relevant associations, groups for the overall improvement of the living standard of the teeming people in the state.

The outgoing State Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change Rt. Hon. Nasiru Sule Garo who was recently transferred to the Ministry for Special Duties, made the disclosure at the first edition Annual Public Lecture Series, and award Ceremony, for African Union Agenda 2063 Ambassadorial Assembly, held at Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja, with the theme: Appraising the 11 years Journey of AU Agenda 2063 and the way forward.

Garo who was among the nominees who were conferred with the title of Ambassador, expressed appreciation to Almighty Allah and the AU Agenda 2063 Ambassadorial Assembly for finding him worthy to be among the few who secured this rear privilege.

He further explained that, this gesture would certainly serve as a moral booster to him to continue to do more in his capacity for the good people of Kano State, and praise Governor Alh Abba Kabir Yusuf for giving him an opportunity to contribute his wealth of experience, in his administration and pledge to do more in his new Ministry for the overall development of Kano State.

In his welcome address the head of Mission African Union Agenda 2063 Ambassadorial Assembly, Amb. Dr. Stephen Gbatigbi Ben-Joel said the purpose of the lecture was to appraise the 11 years Journey of AU Agenda 2063 and to chart the way forward. This theme is both timely and profound encapsulating the essence of our collective mission as an assembly. Our role is multifaceted evaluating and analyzing progress said the head of mission.

He further explained that African Union Agenda recognized Nasiru Garo in view of his outstanding performance and achievements and competence to champion the AU Agenda 2063, this and many other considerations were carefully studied and examined to fish him out of millions to be among the recipients of this prestigious and reserved award and conferred a title of Ambassador to him.

He urged all the recipients to always used their wealth of experience to be a beacon of hope to all African’s and live by example he urged.
