The Kano State Information Technology Development Agency (KASITDA), today received a delegation from Airtel Nigeria during a strategic engagement focused on strengthening digital infrastructure and expanding collaboration within Kano State’s growing technology ecosystem.

The meeting was led by the Director-General/CEO of KASITDA, Bashir Abdu Muzakkari, PhD., and centered on opportunities around connectivity, digital inclusion, enterprise solutions, and innovation-driven partnerships that can support the State Government’s digital transformation agenda. Discussions also emphasized the importance of resilient telecommunications infrastructure in enabling efficient digital governance and service delivery.

The engagement aligns with the vision of His Excellency, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Executive Governor of Kano State, whose administration continues to prioritize technology, innovation, and digital empowerment as key pillars for sustainable development and economic growth in Kano State.

KASITDA remains committed to fostering strong collaborations with industry leaders and technology stakeholders to accelerate digital adoption, strengthen public infrastructure, and position Kano as a leading digital economy hub in Northern Nigeria.

KASITDA DG Visits Kano State Ministry of Health to Advance Digital Transformation Agenda

The Director-General of the Kano State Information and Communication Technologies Development Agency (KASITDA), Dr. Bashir Abdu Muzakkari, today paid a strategic working visit to the Kano State Ministry of Health as part of ongoing sectoral engagements aimed at accelerating the digitalization of critical sectors across the state.

The visit forms part of the implementation of the Kano State Digital Transformation Agenda 2025–2030, a flagship initiative of the administration of His Excellency, Abba Kabir Yusuf, designed to modernize public service delivery through innovative technology and digital infrastructure.

During the meeting, Dr. Muzakkari emphasized the importance of leveraging digital technologies to improve healthcare administration, enhance data management, strengthen decision-making, and ultimately deliver better health outcomes for citizens of Kano State.

He noted that the engagement with the Ministry of Health is a significant step toward the realization of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s vision of a digitally enabled government that is efficient, transparent, and responsive to the needs of the people.

It will be recalled that KASITDA recently secured an investment of ₦7 billion to support the digitization of three key sectors in Kano State: the Kano State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KNUPDA), the Kano State Judiciary, and the Kano State Ministry of Health.

The investment is expected to provide cutting-edge digital solutions, strengthen institutional capacity, and establish robust information systems that will improve service delivery and governance across the selected sectors.

Officials of the Ministry of Health commended KASITDA for its commitment to driving innovation in the public sector and expressed readiness to collaborate closely with the agency to ensure the successful implementation of the digital health transformation initiative.

The sectoral visits are part of KASITDA’s broader mandate to coordinate and implement the digital transformation agenda of the Kano State Government, positioning the state as a leading hub for digital governance and innovation in Nigeria.
