Falgore Describes Workers as an Engine room For Positive Change

The speaker of Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jibril Ismail Falgore,on behalf of Honourable members, extended a very happy labour day to the esteemed workers across Kano and beyond.

This message was conveyed in a statement released by his spokesperson, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, on Friday, Falgore workers as an engine room that vibrates and sustainable social -Economic Development of any society.

Falgore emphasized that work is changing rapidly with the economic, demographic, technological and environmental trends.

As we celebrate labour day, 2026 workers should join hands with relevant stakeholders and come up with a strategy for continuing to advocate for the protection of workers rights that will focus on a number of issues that are taking place in the world of work.

Falgore stated, I salute all workers in Kano and pledge that the legislative arm will continue to strive to bring good tidings, especially workers welfare and well-being.

Kano Assembly Confirms Garo as Deputy Governor

The Kano State House of Assembly ad hoc committee on the screening of Hon. Murtala Sule Garo, nominee for the office of Deputy Governor of Kano State, has submitted its report to the House at today’s plenary session.

In a statement released by the Speaker’s spokesperson, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, the chairman of the ad hoc committee, Rt. Hon. Muhammad Bello Butu Butu (Deputy Speaker), said that after an exhaustive examination of the nominee’s credentials the committee’s findings are as follows:

- Education: The nominee presented authentic and verifiable credentials showing attendance at Bayero University Kano and WestFord Education.
- Personal details: He was born on 15 May 1978 and hails from Garo town, Kabo Local Government Area, Kano State.
- Political career: He is a member of the APC and has served as Chairman of Kabo Local Government, ALGON Chairman, Commissioner, Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, and was the Deputy Governorship candidate in the 2023 general elections.
- Screening performance: The nominee responded satisfactorily to all questions posed by committee members.
- Verification: The committee carried out a detailed and thorough scrutiny of the nominee’s records.

Committee recommendations

- That the House approve and confirm the nomination of Hon. Murtala Sule Garo as Deputy Governor of Kano State.
- That the House reaffirm its commitment to collaborate with the executive arm to promote good governance, accountability, and the overall development of Kano State.

The Kano State House of Assembly, under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Speaker Jibril Ismail Falgore, has unanimously confirmed Hon. Murtala Sule Garo as Deputy Governor of Kano State.
