BEFORE I STARTED PREACHING
It is unfortunate that the statement "it is by God's Grace" has had a detrimental effect on many individuals. While it is true that the grace of God plays a significant role in our lives, it is important to remember that without discipline and dedication, one's journey may lead to nowhere. As the esteemed Apostle Paul once wisely stated, he not only labored diligently but also surpassed the efforts of all others. This serves as a reminder that hard work and commitment are essential ingredients for success in life.
I was once asked by someone, "What did you do before you began preaching?" Allow me to share with you the journey that led me to this sacred calling. Prior to embracing the path of preaching, I embarked on a year-long vigil, a period of devout dedication and spiritual discipline. Throughout this time, I resided within the sanctuary of the church, where I diligently immersed myself in the teachings of the Bible, engaging in fasting and prayer. This arduous labor of love served as a catalyst, allowing the abundant grace to manifest in my life, ultimately guiding me towards the noble vocation of preaching. I said this with all humility.
Listen to what Apostle Paul said in these scriptures:
1 Corinthians 15:10 "But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me."
2 Corinthians 11:23 "Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft."
Ephesians 4:28 "Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth."
2 Thessalonians 3:8 "Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:"
MAY YOU STAND OUT IN Your Generation.
