INDISCIPLINE IS A VIRUS THAT DESTROYS AN ORGANIZATION.
Indiscipline is a dangerous virus that spreads silently within an organization, destroying unity, discipline, respect, loyalty, and progress. Just as a virus attacks the human body, indiscipline attacks the foundation of an institution, weakening its leadership and destroying the values that hold its members together.
**Indiscipline begins with little things*
Disobedience, disrespecting superior officers, assumption
negligent duties, spreading rumours, abusing privileges, and placing personal interests above collective goals.
When these behaviours are ignored, they grow into serious problems that can destroy an entire organization.
In a disciplined organization, members understand that rank comes with responsibility, authority comes with accountability, and leadership requires exemplary conduct. No matter how highly placed an individual may be, nobody should consider themselves above the rules and regulations of the organization.
For an organization like The Nigerian Legion Corps of Commissioners Unit 101 Lagos State Command, discipline is not merely a requirement; it is the backbone of professionalism, effective command, unity, and public trust. Every member must understand that our strength does not depend only on our uniforms, ranks, titles, or numbers, but on our character, obedience to lawful authority, integrity, and commitment to duty.
A member who encourages indiscipline weakens the command.
A leader who tolerates indiscipline encourages its spread. And an organization that refuses to confront indiscipline may eventually become a house divided against itself.
Remember these five principles:
1.Discipline builds; indiscipline destroys.
2. Respect for lawful authority promotes unity.
3. Obedience to lawful orders demonstrates professionalism.
4. Accountability protects the integrity of the organization.
5. Personal interest must never be placed above collective progress.
We must stop protecting indiscipline because of friendship, personal loyalty, rank, or selfish interest. Correct wrongdoing fairly, enforce regulations consistently, and treat every member according to established rules. Discipline must be guided by justice, fairness, and mutual respect, not intimidation, hatred, or abuse of power.
Let every officer and member examine their own conduct before pointing fingers at others.
The change we desire in our organization must begin with us. We cannot demand respect while disrespecting others, demand obedience while violating regulations, or preach unity while promoting division.
*A WORD TO EVERY LEGIONNAIRE*
Let us protect the integrity of our Corps. Let us respect our uniforms, honour our responsibilities, obey lawful instructions, and remain committed to the common good. Do not be the carrier of the virus of indiscipline; be an agent of discipline, peace, unity, and progress.
Indiscipline is a virus, but discipline is the antidote. If we want a stronger command, we must reject the virus before it destroys the institution we have worked so hard to build.
*Great People, Great Nation.*
