I stand with this writer
BEFORE YOU SAY VDM IS ATTACKING PASTORS, LISTEN TO THE MESSAGE
I saw a post explaining that the reason for VeryDarkMan’s recent criticism of pastors is because he sponsored a young man to China. The writer went further to say that the Body of Christ is unfair for not recognizing Apostle Chibuzor and Dr. Jesus OPM, who have sponsored young people abroad, and recently helped 40 youths secure visas to work for an oil company outside Nigeria.
Then someone asked: “Apart from Apostle Chibuzor, which other pastors have helped young people?”
Hmmm… what a question!
The list is endless.
There are fathers in the faith who have helped, empowered, sponsored, fed, educated and lifted people without ever announcing everything they do.
Papa Anselm Madubuko is a gift to many people. He has impacted lives and continues to do so.
Papa Kon Tom K Mbaimba is another man who, from what I have personally observed, does not go around announcing everything he has done to positively affect people's lives.
Papa Bishop James Abraham has helped many people without making noise about it.
And there are many others: Papa Tom Sam, Apostle Johnson Suleman Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, Pastor Dr. Paul Enenche , Pastor David Ogbueli ,Papa David Oyedepo, Papa John Obiuisi, Papa Theo Ugah , and many more.
So, if you are asking which pastors have helped people, look around your own neighbourhood. I am sure you will find one or two pastors who have quietly changed someone's life.
But let me make something very clear.
I don't believe VeryDarkMan's criticism of pastors can simply be explained by the fact that he took one young man to China.
VDM is also known for supporting people and contributing to community projects, including building schools and other interventions. Recognizing that fact does not mean I support everything he says or does.
No.
As believers, we must learn to disagree without insulting, cursing, mocking or body-shaming people because of their physical appearance or challenges.
And this applies to everyone — whether the person is a pastor, imam, traditionalist, native doctor, celebrity or anybody else.
As long as the person is human, their physical challenge should never become an excuse for mockery.
But at the same time, before you conclude that VDM is simply “attacking a pastor,” please go back and watch the videos carefully.
Listen to what the pastor actually said.
Don't react only because the person being criticized is a pastor.
We can defend the dignity of pastors without blindly defending everything a pastor says.
We can also acknowledge the good VDM does without supporting everything that comes out of his mouth.
For me, the standard should remain the same:
Don't insult.
Don't curse.
Don't body-shame.
But also don't defend blindly.
Listen to the message. Examine the facts. Then make your judgment.
We can disagree without becoming enemies.
