Commissioner for Works Assesses Flood-Affected Areas in Calabar

The Cross River State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Pius Edet, has visited several flood-affected areas in Calabar to assess the extent of damage caused by recent flooding.

Speaking during the inspection tour, the Commissioner assured residents of the affected communities that the state government is committed to addressing the situation and implementing measures to prevent future occurrences. He urged residents to remain calm, noting that the government is already taking proactive steps to mitigate the impact of flooding across the state.

Hon. Edet reaffirmed the commitment of the Governor of Cross River State, Bassey Edet Otu, to the welfare and safety of citizens. He stated that the administration remains focused on improving infrastructure and drainage systems to reduce the risk of flooding and protect lives and property.

The Commissioner also assured residents that the government would continue to monitor the affected areas and provide necessary interventions where required.
