It was truly impactful.
As part of our continued commitment to creating a , iSafe partnered with to deliver a menstrual health mentorship and awareness session for SS1 and SS2 girls at Expressway Senior Secondary School, Ajegunle, Ajeromi-Ifelodun, Lagos.
The programme featured two engaging sessions that provided the girls with a safe space to learn, ask questions, and share experiences. Leveraging their expertise as healthcare professionals, the Medplus team led discussions on menstrual health, body changes, signs of menstruation, menstrual hygiene, and other essential health-related topics. ISAFE complemented the session by addressing menstrual stigma, confidence building, and providing a broader understanding of menstruation and its impact on girls’ wellbeing.
The conversations were insightful, interactive, and empowering. Participants actively engaged, asked thoughtful questions, and received practical guidance on concerns and personal experiences related to menstruation.
To support their menstrual health journey, the girls also received sanitary pads, exercise books, biros, key holders, and other gift items.
We sincerely appreciate Medplus for their partnership, commitment, and contribution to advancing menstrual health awareness among adolescent girls. We are equally grateful to the management, principal, and teachers of Expressway Senior Secondary School for their warm reception and support in ensuring the success of this initiative.
Together, we are breaking stigma, building confidence, and empowering girls with the knowledge and resources they need to thrive.
