Construction work is currently ongoing in preparation for the development of a pedestrian link bridge connecting Tomaro to Itun Agan.

The project is designed to improve pedestrian connectivity between both communities, provide safer and more convenient movement for residents, and enhance access for people who rely on the route for their daily activities.

CLEAR DRAINAGES. CLEANER COMMUNITIES. HEALTHIER LIVING.

As part of its ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and flood prevention, Amuwo-Odofin Local Government has successfully completed the desilting and clearing of drainage channels at 41 Road, 21 Road, 32 Road, and 31 Road.

This proactive intervention will enhance the free flow of stormwater, reduce the risk of flooding, and promote a cleaner, healthier environment for residents. The Council remains committed to implementing practical, people focused initiatives that improve infrastructure, protect the environment, and enhance the quality of life across every community in Amuwo-Odofin.

SUPERVISOR FOR TRANSPORTATION AND WATERWAYS INSPECTS REPAIRS ON FESTAC–APPLE JUNCTION LINK BRIDGE BARRICADE

The Supervisor for Transportation and Waterways, Capt. Adebayo Dosunmu, supervised the ongoing repairs and reconstruction of the damaged barricade at Festac/Apple Junction Link Bridge.

The intervention is aimed at strengthening safety measures and protecting the bridge from damage caused by the indiscriminate movement of petroleum tankers, container laden trucks, and other heavy duty vehicles. The barricade will continue to be reinforced to ensure strict compliance with the bridge's intended usage and preserve the integrity of the infrastructure.

CLEANER STREETS. HEALTHIER COMMUNITIES.

As part of its commitment to maintaining a clean Road and healthy environment, Amuwo-Odofin Local Government carried out environmental sanitation and roadside cleaning along 5th Avenue by 52 Road.

The exercise focused on clearing debris and cleaning the road shoulders to improve sanitation, enhance the area's appearance, and promote a healthier environment for residents and road users.

Together, we are building a cleaner, safer, and more beautiful Amuwo-Odofin.

COURTESY VISIT TO THE ALAMUWO OF KUJE AMUWO

In a demonstration of respect for our cherished traditional institution and commitment to strengthening community partnerships, the Executive Chairman of Amuwo-Odofin Local Government, Prince Lanre Sanusi, led a high-powered delegation on a courtesy visit to the newly installed HRM Alaiyeluwa Oba Akiolu Adegboyega Olatunji Yussuf, the Alamuwo of Kuje Amuwo.

The delegation included the Vice Chairman, Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Chief of Staff, Supervisors, Council Manager, Council Treasurer, and other members of the management team.

During the visit, the Chairman congratulated His Royal Majesty on his successful installation and reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to working closely with the traditional institution in advancing peace, unity, and sustainable development across Amuwo-Odofin.

In his response, HRM Alaiyeluwa Oba Akiolu Adegboyega Olatunji Yussuf warmly received the delegation and offered heartfelt prayers for the Executive Chairman, Prince Lanre Sanusi, and members of his administration. The monarch prayed for divine wisdom, strength, good health, and greater success in their efforts to deliver impactful governance and improve the lives of the people of Amuwo-Odofin.

The visit further reinforced the cordial relationship between the local government and the traditional institution, underscoring their shared commitment to the progress, peace, and prosperity of the community.
