‎NSCDC KOGI COMMAND PROMOTES TEAM SPIRIT THROUGH VOLLEYBALL COMPETITION

‎The Kogi State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), under the leadership of the State Commandant, Commandant Aletan Olumide Ebenezer, has organised a volleyball competition as part of efforts to promote physical fitness, teamwork and healthy interaction among personnel.

‎The sporting activity featured a competitive volleyball match between the NSCDC Kogi Command Volleyball Team and the Spiker volleyball club.

‎Speaking on the initiative, Commandant Aletan stated that sporting activities are an important aspect of personnel welfare and development, as they help to keep officers physically fit, mentally alert and motivated to discharge their responsibilities effectively.

‎He further encouraged personnel to embrace sports and other healthy recreational activities, noting that a fit and motivated workforce is better prepared to respond to security challenges and effectively protect lives and critical national assets.

‎The competition also provided an opportunity for personnel to interact, build stronger bonds and foster the spirit of teamwork beyond routine official duties.

‎The Command reaffirmed its commitment to personnel welfare in accordance to the policies and strategies of the Commandants General professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi mni OFR thus whose priority is ensuring the promotion of initiatives that enhance the physical and mental well-being of officers and men of the Corps across the nation.

‎ *FLOOD PREPAREDNESS: NSCDC KOGI COMMAND JOINS SEMA/NEMA SENSITIZATION EXERCISE.*

‎The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kogi State Command, joined the Kogi State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and other security agencies in a sensitization campaign to educate residents of flood-prone communities on the anticipated 2026 flooding in Kogi State.

‎The exercise covered the palaces of the Esu of Adankolo, Chief David Aibe Agbayi, and the Anaja Gaku of Ganaja, HRH Alhaji Abubakar Yakubu J., where the traditional rulers commended the initiative and pledged to mobilize their communities to comply with government directives.

‎The Executive Secretary of SEMA, Alhaji Mouktar Atimah, urged residents living along riverbanks to relocate to safer areas, stressing that early action is necessary to prevent loss of lives and property. He noted that the Kogi State Government, under the leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, has put measures in place to mitigate the impact of the expected floods.

‎In his remarks, the Kogi State Commandant of the NSCDC, Commandant Aletan Olumide Ebenezer, emphasized that disaster management is a core mandate of the Corps. He called on all stakeholders and residents to cooperate with emergency agencies by adhering to safety advisories and providing timely information to support disaster prevention efforts.

‎The traditional rulers appreciated the visit and assured the team of their commitment to disseminating the flood preparedness message throughout their communities.

‎NSCDC KOGI COMMANDANT RECEIVES VICE PRESIDENT, SENATOR KASHIM SHETTIMA, GCON.

‎Kogi State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Aletan Olumide Ebenezer join his Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo FCA alongside other service commanders received the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON, during his official visit to Kogi State.

‎The Vice President was in the State to commission the *Barefoot Renewable Energy College* , an initiative of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN) under the Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology, aimed at promoting renewable energy development, technical skills acquisition and sustainable energy solutions.

‎As part of the mandate of the Corps in protecting Very Important People (VIP) Kogi State Commandant reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to providing adequate security and ensuring the safety of the Vice President, dignitaries and other participants throughout the engagement.

‎The Commandant commended the Federal Government for this initiatives aimed at promoting innovation, renewable energy and human capital development in the country while assuring that as part of the Corps statutory responsibility to protect Critical National Assets and Infrastructure in the state it will not relent in discharge of these duties.

‎NSCDC KOGI COMMAND ARREST SUSPECT, RECOVERS VANDALIZED ATC MAST ITEMS

‎The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kogi State Command, has recorded another significant breakthrough in its ongoing efforts to protect Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI) with the arrest of a suspected vandal, Abdulrahman Mohammed, aged 45, a resident of Felele, behind Zango Daji, Lokoja.

‎The suspect was arrested while his accomplice, Hussein (FNU), who is currently at large, following a report by residents of Omoko Community in Kogi Local Government Area concerning suspicious movements around an ATC Active Mast Site, with code KG 0087.

‎Acting swiftly on the information, the Corps, in collaboration with vigilant youths of the community, mounted surveillance around the mast site to prevent any act of vandalism.

‎On 28th July 2026, at about 0300 hours, the suspect, Abdulrahman Mohammed, ran out of luck and was apprehended with items suspected to have been vandalized from the mast installation. During preliminary interrogation, the suspect reportedly confessed to his involvement in the act.

‎The Command has commenced proper profiling and further investigation into the matter, after which the suspect will be charged to court to face the full wrath of the law.

‎The State Commandant, Commandant Aletan Olumide Ebenezer, commended the people of Omoko Community for their vigilance, courage and timely provision of useful information that led to the arrest.

‎He reiterated that security is a collective responsibility, stressing that the Corps will not relent in its efforts to safeguard Critical National Assets and Infrastructure across the State.

‎Commandant Aletan further urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious movements, persons or activities to the nearest security formation or other relevant authorities.

‎He emphasized that timely and credible information from members of the public remains essential to preventing crime, protecting public infrastructure and making Kogi State safer for all.

‎The Kogi State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Aletan Olumide Ebenezer, supervised the 2026 Junior Promotion Examination held at the Federal University Lokoja.

‎Addressing the candidates, the Commandant charged them to be diligent, focused, and conduct themselves in a highly disciplined manner throughout the examination. He reminded the personnel that promotion examinations are designed to assess their knowledge, competence, and readiness for higher responsibilities, urging them to rely on hard work and integrity.

‎Commandant Aletan expressed his satisfaction with the peaceful and orderly conduct of the examination across the state. He commended all officers involved in the coordination and supervision of the exercise for their professionalism and commitment, which contributed to its success.

‎Kogi State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Aletan Olumide Ebenezer, alongside other heads of security agencies in the State, joined His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, Governor of Kogi State, at a press briefing following the successful rescue of the four persons abducted during the recent attack on an unauthorized examination centre in Olowa, Dekina Local Government Area.

‎During the briefing, Governor Ododo commended the gallantry, professionalism, and unwavering commitment of all security agencies operating in Kogi State. He attributed the successful rescue operation to the strong spirit of inter-agency synergy, intelligence sharing, and coordinated security operations among the various services.

‎ *NSCDC KOGI STATE COMMAND CONDUCTS ROUTINE MEDICAL CHECK-UP FOR PERSONNEL, RECEIVES DRUG DONATION*

‎Following the recent demise of an NSCDC officer due to complications arising from high blood pressure, the Kogi State Commandant, Aletan Olumide Ebenezer, has commenced a routine medical check-up for officers and men of the Command.

‎The exercise is aimed at assessing the health status of personnel, promoting early detection of health challenges, and ensuring that officers remain medically fit to discharge their constitutional responsibilities effectively and efficiently.

‎Speaking during the exercise, the Commandant stressed that while the Corps is entrusted with the responsibility of protecting Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI), officers must also prioritize safeguarding their own health.

‎According to him, "Apart from the Critical National Assets and Infrastructure we protect, another CNAI we must protect is our health. A healthy officer is an efficient and effective officer." He therefore urged all personnel to be regular with their medical check-ups and embrace healthy lifestyles as a prerequisite for quality service delivery.

‎In support of the initiative, the Chief Executive Officer of Iduh Memorial Plaza, Mr. Idu Makasa, generously donated assorted drugs to the Command as part of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

‎Mr. Makasa commended the welfare-oriented policies of the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, particularly his unwavering commitment to the safety, welfare, and protection of personnel. ‎NSCDC KOGI COMMAND CRACKS DOWN ON TRANSFORMER VANDALS, ONE ARRESTED.

‎The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kogi State Command, has recorded another operational success with the arrest of a suspected transformer vandal, Audu Bello, while three other suspects identified as Asipita, Abdullahi, and Abdul (full names yet to be ascertained) are currently at large.

‎The arrest followed a distress report received from vigilant members of the Inoziomi Community in Adavi Local Government Area, who observed suspicious movements around a newly installed AEDC transformer scheduled for commissioning next week. Acting swiftly on credible intelligence, operatives of the NSCDC Adavi Divisional Office, in collaboration with members of the community, mobilised to the scene and successfully apprehended the suspect in the early hours of 10th July, 2026, at about 12:00 a.m.

‎Items recovered from the suspect include vandalised AEDC transformer components, various tools used in carrying out the act, and a Volkswagen Golf 3 Station Wagon with registration number KWL 837 ZZ (Abuja).

‎The suspect is currently in custody and will be thoroughly profiled. Upon the conclusion of investigations, he will be charged to court, while efforts have been intensified to apprehend the fleeing accomplices.

‎The Kogi State Command reiterates its commitment to protecting Critical National Assets and Infrastructure in line with the directive of the Commandant General, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR. The Command also commends the vigilance and cooperation of the Inoziomi Community, whose timely information led to the successful arrest, and urges members of the public to continue providing credible intelligence to security agencies.

‎KOGI STATE COMMANDANT RECEIVES HER EXCELLENCY, SENATOR OLUREMI TINUBU CON, AND HER ENTOURAGES.

‎The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kogi State Command, Commandant Aletan Olumide Ebenezer, alongside other heads of security agencies in the state, warmly received the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Bola Ahmed Tinubu, during her official working visit to Kogi State on Saturday, 11th July, 2026.

‎Her Excellency and her entourage arrived at the Obajana Helipad before proceeding to Lokoja, where she commissioned a number of developmental projects and participated in other official engagements.

‎Speaking after the visit, Commandant Aletan commended the cordial working relationship and effective collaboration among the various security agencies in the state. He noted that the synergy exhibited before, during, and after the visit was instrumental to the successful and hitch-free conduct of the exercise.

‎The Commandant further emphasized the need to sustain the existing inter-agency cooperation to strengthen security, enhance public safety, and effectively combat crime and other criminal activities across Kogi State.
