CAPTION: BORNO STATE COMMAND DEPLOYS 1,100 PERSONNEL FOR PEACEFUL EID-EL MAULID CELEBRATION

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC) Borno State Command, has deployed a total of 1,100 personnel across the State to ensure a hitch-free, safe and peaceful celebration of the 2026 Eid-El Maulid scheduled for Tuesday, 25th August, 2026.

The deployment, approved by the State Commandant, Ahmed Bello Gaya, fnsis, GCNNS, will cover Shehu's Palace, Madinatu Masjid, Sheikh Sheriff Saleh Masjid at Gwange, Ramat Square, Maiduguri Metropolis, major highways, strategic locations, markets, and other identified critical venues across the State.

The State Commandant stated that the operation is aimed at safeguarding lives and property, preventing crime and criminality, maintaining public order, and ensuring the overall safety of residents and visitors during and after the celebration.

Personnel have been directed to intensify surveillance, intelligence gathering, and highway patrols, particularly along major entry and exit routes, worship centres, and other vulnerable areas. The Command will also work in synergy with sister security agencies and relevant stakeholders to ensure robust security coverage.

Comdt. Gaya reassured members of the public of the Corps’ commitment to providing adequate security throughout the festivities. He urged residents to remain law-abiding, vigilant, and promptly report any suspicious persons or activities to the nearest security formation.

The operation will commence from Monday, 24th August 2026, through Friday, 28th August 2026, under the overall supervision of the State Commandant, while the Head of Operations, DCC Ayuba Camsen Kumbet, will serve as the Ground Commander.

The Commandant wishes all Muslim faithful in Borno State a peaceful and joyous Eid-El Maulid celebration.

The newly appointed Zanna Karabkama of Borno, Zanna Ali, accompanied by members of his team, has paid a courtesy visit to the NSCDC Borno State Command following his recent appointment by His Royal Highness, Alh. (Dr) Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Elkanemi, the Shehu of Borno.

Speaking during the visit, Zanna Ali described the NSCDC as a grassroots security agency and commended the Corps for its efforts and commitment to security and peacebuilding in the state.

He explained that the mandate of his office covers all trade unions and associations, as well as the maintenance of a database for effective coordination. He noted that liaising with the NSCDC is imperative due to the alignment of mandates, hence the decision to make NSCDC the first security agency to be visited.

In his response, the State Commandant, Ahmed Bello Gaya finsis, GCNNS, congratulated the Zanna on his new appointment and prayed for a successful tenure.

Comdt. Gaya assured him of the Command’s support and the immediate appointment of a Desk Officer to oversee the coordination and compilation of names of all trade unions and associations in line with the Corps’ mandate.

The Commandant also used the opportunity to extend his goodwill message to *His Royal Highness, the Shehu of Borno.

The visit ended on a cordial note with an exchange of pleasantries and a group photograph.

CAPTION: REMENAF Borno Chapter Visited NSCDC, Pledges Support in Counter-Insurgency Efforts

Members of the Nigeria Armed Forces, REMENAF, Borno State Chapter paid a courtesy visit to the NSCDC Borno State Command.

While speaking on behalf of the Chairman, Flight Officer Usman Mode said the visit was to reaffirm the association’s unalloyed loyalty and commitment to the Corps, particularly in the fight against insurgency in Borno State.

He added that the association has proposed a 2027 training program to sensitize youths and communities on peacebuilding.

In response, the State Commandant, Ahmed Bello Gaya finsis, GCNNS, thanked the team for the visit and urged them to give timely notice of the training so the Command can support and boost their capacity.

CAPTION: UMTH Organizing Committee Seeks NSCDC Collaboration for Prof. Ahijo’s Send-off Events

The Organizing Committee for the forthcoming Project Commissioning, Book Launch, Inaugural Lecture, and Send-off Dinner in honour of Prof. Ahmed Ahijo, Chief Medical Director of the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, (UMTH), has paid a courtesy visit to the NSCDC Borno State Command today.

The delegation was led by Mallam Tijjani Jika, Human Resources Manager of UMTH.

The purpose of the visit was to seek collaboration and support from the Corps to ensure a seamless and hitch-free ex*****on of the events.

Receiving the team at the NSCDC Borno State Headquarters, the State Commandant, Ahmed Bello Gaya finsis, GCNNS, expressed satisfaction with UMTH’s recognition of the Corps’ commitment to peace and security in the state.

Comdt. Gaya affirmed the Corps’ readiness to support the upcoming programs. He also conveyed the warm wishes of the Commandant General, NSCDC, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi mni, OFR, to the outgoing CMD, Prof. Ahijo, and wished him well in all his future endeavours.

CAPTION: NISS Fellowship Team Visits NSCDC Borno, Comdt. Gaya Pledges Support

A research team from the National Institute for Strategic Studies, NISS, Abuja paid a courtesy and research visit to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Borno State Command on Tuesday.

The team was led by a Deputy Director of the State Security Service Mr. Bello Nasir, and others were one Deputy Director DSS and an *Assistant Comptroller of Customs.

The team was received by the State Commandant, CC Ahmed Bello Gaya finsis, GCNNS

In his remarks, Comdt. Gaya congratulated the team for embarking on the research assignment and assured them of the Command's full support in filling research guides and questionnaires, as well as any other assistance required.

*CAPTION: BUILDING STRONGER TIES- NSCDC, MAN O' WAR COLLABORATE ON SAFE SCHOOL INITIATIVES*

There was a renewed sense of partnership at the NSCDC Borno State Command today as the new leadership of *Man O' War Nigeria, Borno Command* paid a working and familiarization visit.

The visit came shortly after the appointment of the new Man O' War Commander- MC Isa Adamu Dawa. The goal was to deepen ties and ensure both organizations work smoothly together on the ground, with zero conflict of interest.

In his remarks, the Man O' War Commander called for clearer collaboration, especially around the *Safe Schools Initiative*. He emphasized that protecting students should be a joint effort and pledged the loyalty and support of his command to NSCDC for a harmonious working relationship.

Responding on behalf of the State Commandant, *CC Ahmed Bello Gaya, finsis, GCNNS*, the Deputy Commandant *DCC Obe Ndubuisi (Ag Comdt)* welcomed the team warmly. He assured them of a robust partnership going forward.

DCC Obe also urged Man O' War to support the Corps with timely intelligence sharing, noting that "intelligence is the bedrock of every security agency."

On Safe Schools, he said: _β€œNSCDC officers don’t have special schools for our children. Our kids attend the same public schools as everyone else. So protecting schools is not just duty, it’s our social responsibility too.”_

He further commended Man O' War for its patriotism and selfless service to National Security, despite being a volunteer outfit.

The Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Borno State Command, Comdt. Bello Ahmed Gaya, finsis, GCNNS, flagged off the 2026 Junior Staff Promotion Examination at Kashim Ibrahim College of Education, Maiduguri.

The examination, which is part of the Corps’ annual career progression process, had in attendance men from across the 27 Local Government Areas of the state.

In a brief address to the candidates, the Commandant urged them to adhere strictly to all examination rules and regulations. He reminded them that the promotion exercise is merit-based and designed to reward diligence, professionalism, and commitment to service.

He further reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and ethical conduct at all levels.

The Commandant expressed appreciation to the management of Kashim Ibrahim College of Education for providing a conducive environment for the exercise and to the Examination Committee for ensuring a smooth and transparent process.

The atmosphere was calm and orderly as candidates settled down to write the examination under the supervision of NSCDC officials and external monitors.

The *Commandant, NSCDC Borno State Command, Bello Ahmed Gaya finsis, GCNNS*, has convened an *Emergency/Strategic Meeting* with Principal Officers and all *Area Commanders* at the State Headquarters, Borno State Command.

The meeting, attended by the *Head of Administration, Head of CNAI, Head of Operations*, and all Area Commanders in Borno State, was necessitated by the *growing security concerns* in the state and the need to re-strategize for improved service delivery.

In his opening remarks, the Commandant emphasized the *urgent need to tackle current security threats and strengthen operational responses* across all formations in the state. He expressed concern over observed lapses in supervision and reporting and charged the Area Commanders to live up to expectations.

The meeting also focused on:

*Strengthening security operations* across all 27 Local Government Areas of the state

*Improving professionalism among officers* through continuous training and monitoring

*Consolidating gains made in crime reduction* in the state

*Reinforcing accountability* within the Command structures

In his closing remarks, *Comdt. Bello Ahmed Gaya finsis GCNNS* warned that the Command under his watch will not condone acts of indiscipline, negligence, or poor service delivery. He urged all Area Commanders to renew their commitment to protecting lives, property, and critical infrastructure in Borno State.

The meeting ended with a renewed resolve by all Area Commanders to implement the directives and work collectively to ensure peace and safety in the state.

The Zero Tolerance for Corruption Association (ZTCA), National Headquarters, has conferred an Outstanding Certificate of Commendation and Appreciation for Excellence in Service Delivery on the State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Borno State Command, in recognition of his exceptional leadership, integrity, professionalism, and commitment to National Security and Public Service.

The visit among others was also aimed at strengthening institutional collaboration between the Association and the NSCDC while promoting the shared values of integrity, transparency, accountability, discipline, patriotism, and ethical leadership.

According to the Association, the Commandant's exemplary service has significantly contributed to the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure, Disaster Management, Crime Prevention, Conflict Resolution, and the Maintenance of Law and Order across Borno State. His leadership has further enhanced public confidence, strengthened inter-agency cooperation, and promoted peace, stability, and sustainable national development.

The award, was presented by the Chairman, Northern Nigerian Students, Comrade Sadiq Sabo, in recognition of the Commandant as an Icon of Integrity and Nation Building. The presentation symbolizes the appreciation of Nigerian youths and civil society organizations for public officers whose dedication, honesty, and selfless service continue to inspire confidence in public institutions and contribute meaningfully to national development.
Speaking ahead of the presentation, Comrade Sabo stated that the recognition is reserved for individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to ethical leadership, accountability, and excellence in service delivery.

The courtesy visit also provided an opportunity for meaningful discussions on anti-corruption advocacy, youth engagement, peace-building initiatives, community partnership, and collaborative strategies for promoting good governance and national security.

Finally the Zero Tolerance for Corruption Association reaffirmed its commitment to supporting institutions and leaders who uphold the principles of justice, transparency, and responsible leadership, while encouraging citizens to remain active partners in the fight against corruption and the promotion of national unity.

In a brief remarks, Comdt. Ahmed Bello Gaya finsis, GCNNS expressed gratitude to the association for finding him a worthy recipient of all the awards and appointments adding that he will surely justify the confidence reposed in him while reiterating the Corps commitment to upholding the good virtues especially on the principles of justice, peace and excellent service delivery.
