The late Mallam Gana Mallam Meleh, 1st Elected Executive Chairman and 5th Chairman of the defunct Kukawa LGA [now comprising Kukawa, Mobbar, Gubio, Guzamala, Abadam, and Nganzai LGAs], seated with the late HRH Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Mustapha Ibn Umar El-Kanemi Al-Amin, during the Shehu’s visit to Kukawa town in the 1980s.

This was during the tenure of the late Muhammad Goni as Governor of Borno State.

Their legacy of service and leadership remains a source of inspiration, and may Allah forgive them all.

It’s with heavy heart and total submission to the will of Allah S.W.T that I announced the death of Alh Sanda Isa Benisheikh, he passed away today, Sunday 12th April 2026.

Alhaji Sanda Benisheikh was a father, leader, and pillar of Benisheikh, Kaga LGA. He was a respected elder among Borno Elders and served as a Director in the Borno State Ministry of Land and Regional Development in the 1970s.

He is survived by children including Dr. Barrister Isa Sanda Benisheikh former Commissioner of Justice & Attorney General of Borno State, former Commissioner of Information, Home Affairs & Culture, and former Commissioner overseeing the Ministry of Environment.

May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, and give the family the fortitude to bear this great loss Amin.
