CONDITIONAL CASH TRANSFER DISBURSEMENT CONTINUES IN MAKARFI LGA

The Federal Government’s Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) programme under the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu continues to make a positive impact at the grassroots level as beneficiaries in Makarfi Local Government Area of Kaduna State receive their support through ATM disbursement.

The exercise, which took place at the Makarfi Local Government Secretariat, is part of the government’s ongoing commitment to supporting vulnerable households, empowering women, and encouraging small-scale businesses within local communities.

Representing the Chairman of Makarfi Local Government, Hon. Garba Mohammed Sabon Gari, the Speaker to the Council, Rt. Hon. Yushau Jibril Danguzuri, commended the APC-led government for its continued efforts in improving the welfare of citizens and strengthening economic opportunities at the grassroots.

Beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the Federal Government for the initiative, describing the support as timely assistance that will help improve their businesses and family livelihoods.

HON. GARBA MOHD SABON GARI DONATES SALLAH CLOTHES TO ORPHANS IN MAKARFI LGA.

In a remarkable act of compassion and community service, Hon. Garba Mohd Sabon Gari earlier today distributed Sallah clothing and tokens to orphans across Makarfi Local Government Area in preparation for the upcoming Sallah celebration. This kind gesture reflects his deep concern and commitment to supporting orphans and the less privileged within the community.

The event was attended by several respected dignitaries and community leaders, including the S.A on religious matters, Sheikh Dr. Auwal Assudaneey; the S.A on Orphanage Affairs, Mal. Fatima Kabir; the Da’awah Committee Chairman, Mal. Yakubu Isah; Mal. Bello Kuti, Mal. Lawal Isah, Mal. Inuwa Ashara, and other notable religious leaders.

While addressing the gathering, Hon. Garba Mohd Sabon Gari emphasized that being an orphan does not signify the end of hope or opportunity in life. Rather, he explained that with proper guidance, care, and support, it can serve as a pathway to a meaningful and successful future. He therefore encouraged guardians and community leaders to continue nurturing and guiding the children so they can grow into responsible individuals who will make their families and the community proud.

He further assured the beneficiaries that they are not alone, reaffirming his commitment to supporting them whenever the need arises. Hon. Garba also used the opportunity to call on both the guardians and the children to continue praying for the community, the state, and the nation, seeking good leadership, unity, and peaceful coexistence among all citizens.

Re: Security Incident in Anguwan Sada/Wali, Tudun Wada Ward, Makarfi Local Government Area.

We received with deep concern and sadness the news of the unfortunate security incident that occurred last night in Anguwan Sada/Wali, Tudun Wada Ward of Makarfi Local Government Area. This disturbing development has understandably caused fear and anxiety among residents of our peaceful community.

We sincerely sympathize with the families of the victims and all those affected by this tragic incident. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time.

All hands are currently on deck to address the incident and ensure that those involved are brought to justice. Encouraging progress has already been made, with two suspected individuals now in custody. This development reflects the diligent efforts of our security agencies, and we remain hopeful that these efforts will soon secure the safe release of the victim from captivity.

We also call on members of the public to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information or rumors, especially the videos and messages currently circulating on social media. Such actions can create unnecessary panic and may hinder the ongoing efforts of our security agencies, who are already handling the situation diligently.

We therefore urge everyone to cooperate fully with the security authorities by providing useful information where necessary so that lasting solutions can be implemented to safeguard our community.

It is important to emphasize that insecurity is not a political issue but a national challenge that threatens the peace and stability of our society. Fact check: viral video claiming bandit attack in makarfi, Kaduna is misleading

Abuja, March 9

A viral video circulating on social media claiming that bandits are currently attacking Makarfi Local Government Area of Kaduna State has been found to be misleading and falsely represented, security checks have revealed.

The video, which is being widely shared with captions suggesting an ongoing attack in Makarfi near Zaria, shows scenes of heavy gunfire accompanied by a voice-over describing troops repelling armed attackers.

However, a careful review of the footage and audio has confirmed that the voice narration in the video was lifted from a previous military engagement involving troops of Operation Hadin Kai in the Timbuktu Triangle in Borno State, where soldiers were repelling an attack by fighters of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in January 2026.

Recently, there has been concern over a growing trend in which individuals deliberately recycle old combat footage or unrelated security incidents to fabricate fresh attacks, particularly on social media platforms where such content spreads rapidly.

Zagazola noted that the audio commentary does not correspond with any current security situation in Makarfi, and the material has been deliberately recycled and repackaged to create panic among residents. This is a classic case of disinformation where old operational clips are taken out of context and falsely presented as a fresh attack.

Such deliberate manipulation of security-related content is dangerous, as it spreads fear, misleads the public, and can undermine ongoing security operations. The practice is reckless and irresponsible. Those who knowingly circulate such false claims are contributing to psychological warfare of the terrorists aimed at creating panic among civilians.

The general public have therefore been advised to verify security-related information through credible sources before sharing, and to avoid amplifying unverified videos or claims that could fuel unnecessary tension.

EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN OF MAKARFI LGA ATTENDS KADUNA STATE JAAC MEETING.

In line with the commitment to transparency and accountable governance under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Uba Sani, the Kaduna State Local Government Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) convened its statutory meeting for February 2026.

The meeting, held at the Senator Uba Sani Conference Hall, Ministry of Local Government Affairs, Kaduna State, was presided over by Hon. Sadiq Mamman Lagos, Honourable Commissioner for Local Government Affairs.

The Executive Chairman of Makarfi Local Government Hon.Garba Moh'd Sabon Gari was in attendance alongside the 23 Local Government Council Chairmen, their finance and budget deputies, ministry directors, and representatives from SUBEB, RUWASSA, the Office of the Accountant General, PHCB, Pension Bureau, and the Local Government Service Board.

The session provided a platform for constructive deliberations on fund allocations, ensuring effective service delivery and fiscal accountability at the local government level.

MAKARFI LG CHAIRMAN DEFENDS 2026 BUDGET BEFORE KADUNA STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY

The Chairman of Makarfi Local Government, Hon. Garba Mohd. Sabon Gari, appeared before the Kaduna State House of Assembly’s Committee on Budget and Appropriation, as well as the Committee on Local Government and Rural Development, to defend the Council’s proposed 2026 fiscal year budget.

In his presentation, the Chairman disclosed that the proposed budget stands at ₦5.9 billion. He explained that the budget was carefully designed to address the key developmental needs of Makarfi Local Government, with priority given to security support, education, healthcare delivery, rural infrastructure, and community empowerment.

He emphasized that the Council remains committed to prudent financial management and the transparent utilization of public resources. He assured the lawmakers that every allocation in the budget is targeted at delivering direct community impact, in line with the development agenda of Governor Uba Sani’s administration in Kaduna State.

The budget defense session forms part of the Assembly’s constitutional oversight function to ensure accountability, transparency, and alignment with the broader development priorities of Kaduna State.
