*NYSC KATSINA CROWNS MISS NYSC AND MR MACHO*

It was joy all over the the magnificent pavilion in the NYSC permanent orientation camp, MD Yusuf Complex, Mani Road, Katsina on Friday 1st September, 2023 as Miss NYSC and Mr Macho for the 2023 Batch B stream 2 Orientation exercise were crowned

In the contest, ..Platoon 7 emerged the winner for Miss NYSC beating 9 other contestants to earn the crown while Platoon 5 emerged 1st in the male category and crowned Mr Macho

In a remark at the colourful and well packaged event, the NYSC katsina state Coordinator, Hajiya Aisha Muhammad praised the contestants for representing their Platoons in the contest. She opined that life is all about competition, from birth to death, hence, Corps Members must learn to compete with the spirit of sportsmanship, fairness and clear conscience.

The Coordinator used the opportunity to specially commend the social committee for a job well done.

The winners were rewarded with eye catching gift items and consolation prizes ,

*INTER PLATOON GAMES COMPETITIONS ENDED IN KATSINA CAMP*

Finals of sports competition in Katsina camp was held on Friday 1st September, 2023 at the Katsina State NYSC Permanent Orientation camp mini stadium, with the State Coordinator, camp Director, the camp commandant and other senior camp officials in attendance.

The competition features number 3 platoon and number 8 platoon in football while 1 platoon and 6 platoon lock horns in volleyball.

The NYSC katsina State Coordinator Hajiya Aisha Muhammad said she thanked the Almighty God for a successful closing of the games
The Coordinator who inspected the teams commended the sports committee for a job well done. He praised the participants for playing the games according to the rules.

At the end of the tournament the following platoons emerged winners.

In football 3 platoon won the golden trophy, 8 platoon took second, while 10 platoon came third position and was presented with the bronze cup.

In volleyball, 8 platoon came 3rd , 6 platoon came second and 1 platoon won the golden trophy.

Platoon 2,3,5 and 8 had a lecture session with some officials of NDLEA,

During this lecture, the corps members were reminded of the dangers of drug trafficking, intake of harmful substances.

In All, taking off drugs is not beficial and should be avoided at all costs

*PUT GOD FIRST IN EVERYTHING YOU DO*

The head of Reforms at the NYSC NDHQS Abuja, Mr Robert Sunday Aroni has called the 2023 Batch B Stream ,2 Corps Members deployed to katsina State to be prudent in their spending as they can start doing something no matter how little with their monthly allowances.

Mr Aroni made the call on Thursday 24th August , 2023 while speaking to the Corps Members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp Mani Road , Katsina during his one day official visit to katsina Camp.

The head of Reforms advised the Corps Members to take the NySC Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme very serious as the programme will give them the opportunity to excel in their lives endeavour

He further admonished the Corps Members to respect the tradition and culture of their host communities anywhere they will be posted

The head of Reforms also advised the Corps Members not to travel at night but to always break their journeys when it is late at 6.00 pm and pass their night in any military formation or police stations and continue their journeys the next day

Earlier, the NYSC Katsina State Coordinator Hajiya Aisha Muhammad had informed the DG's representative that the Camp was peaceful and the Corps Members were well behaved .
Aisha further reported that the camp officials were working in synergy and very cooperative

Highlight was the entertaining dance presented by the 2023 Batch B stream 2 Corps Members.
