To My Good People of Niger State, Especially Chanchaga Local Government:

As our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), prepares for the forthcoming Local Government Elections, I have received several messages and kind concerns regarding my recent absence from public activities.

Let it be known that my absence is not out of disengagement, but due to a higher spiritual commitment — I am currently in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia performing the Lesser Hajj (Umrah).

From the sacred land, my prayers, goodwill, and full support remain firmly with our Governor, His Excellency Hon. Mohammed Umaru Bago, whose visionary leadership continues to inspire progress and transformation across Niger State.

I also reaffirm my unwavering support for the APC Flagbearers for Chanchaga Local Government, Dr. Mustapha Jibril Alheri and Hajiya Safiya Tanimu Nasidi, as well as all our councillorship candidates. I have had the privilege of working closely with our women leaders, community representatives, and youth groups under the ZMB Initiative, rallying massive support for the party’s success at the grassroots.

As I pray for a peaceful, credible, and victorious election, I am also praying for continuous success, stability, and divine guidance for our beloved state and its leadership.

May Allah (SWT) bless our efforts, unite our hearts, and make this election a new dawn of progress for all.

I wish to sincerely commend the Farmer Governor of Niger State, His Excellency Hon. Mohammed Umaru Bago, for his visionary initiative in advocating the use of the prestigious game of Polo as a platform to provide scholarships for less privileged children in our society.

This noble step, as unveiled during the just concluded Governor’s Charity Polo Tournament organized by the Minna Polo Club, reflects the Governor’s consistent commitment to inclusive development and his deep concern for the future of children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

By pledging ₦50 million in support of this cause, His Excellency has once again demonstrated that leadership is not only about governance but also about creating opportunities that transform lives. This initiative will not only promote the game of Polo among the younger generation but will also serve as a sustainable avenue for educational empowerment across Niger State.

I also extend warm appreciation to the First Vice President of the Minna Polo Club, Mohammed Babangida, for his tireless dedication in promoting Polo nationwide and for supporting this charitable vision.

Indeed, the Governor’s action is a shining example of how sports can be a tool for social change, empowerment, and community development. I call on corporate organizations, institutions, and well-meaning individuals to key into this vision as part of their corporate social responsibility.

As a mother and advocate for empowerment, I celebrate this milestone and reaffirm my belief that together, through visionary leadership and collective responsibility, we can build a brighter, more inclusive future for Niger State.

BRIDGING THE GAP BETWEEN GOVERNANCE AND THE PEOPLE: GOVERNOR UMARU BAGO’S ENGAGEMENT STRATEGY

If there is one defining trait of Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, it is his relatability with all and sundry, a quality he nurtured long before becoming Governor. For a leader who understands his mandate and is determined to drive development, engagements take place at different levels: international, national, grassroots, and beyond.

On international engagement, Niger State is steadily reclaiming its identity as a prime investment destination in Nigeria, moving beyond its hydro power reputation. From North and South America to Europe, Asia, and other continents, the State is increasingly attracting investors, positioning itself as a hub for global partnerships and sustainable economic growth.

On national engagement, the Governor has built strong ties with the Federal Government and ensured Niger’s active visibility. These efforts have yielded dividends. On March 11, 2024, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu visited Niger state to commission the remodeled Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport, Minna, and to flag off agricultural mechanisation for food security. The Vice President and the First Lady of the FRN have also visited twice, respectively, extending donations and support to the people of the State.

For grassroots engagement, the Governor ensures that traditional institutions are involved in decision-making, while constant consultations with security chiefs help sustain peace. His policies remain deliberately people-centric, designed to address the peculiar needs of citizens across local communities in Niger State.

Through religious engagement, Governor Bago has demonstrated inclusivity in action, preaching tolerance, supporting mosques and churches, attending youth concerts, and donating generously across faiths. At his inauguration thanksgiving in Minna, he affirmed: “Never again will religion be used as a subterfuge to cover our weakness.”

Under political and sectoral engagement, the Governor consistently engages party leaders at the Federal, State, and Local levels. Through Senatorial Stakeholders’ Meetings, he has brought governance closer to the people by taking the office of the Governor right to the footstep of the citizens, boosting local commerce and the economy. He also interacts with stakeholders in education, agriculture, entrepreneurship, labour, and student leadership, ensuring their concerns directly shape government policies.

Between November 2024 and January 2025, Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago personally toured all 25 Local Government Areas of Niger State, inspecting projects, meeting community leaders, and addressing local demands. Some issues were solved on the spot, while others were integrated into the next budget. Mr. Governor ferried his vehicles across the river to reach remote communities, a rare act that left residents deeply impressed.

Governor Bago is highly accessible and approachable. He attends weddings, burials, and community/communal celebrations, and he makes it a point to celebrate Nigerlites excelling in various professions, using their stories as motivation for others.

This is the first time Nigerlites are experiencing a Governor who consistently visits their domains, listens to them, and brings government to their doorsteps. His frequent engagements, local, national, and international, are not frivolous but deliberate, strategic, and already yielding results. This is only the beginning of a GREATER NIGER.

Sai BAGO... Towards a sustainable for all.

At ZMB Initiative, we are guided by a simple yet powerful belief: every mother deserves dignity, care, and support on her journey of bringing life into the world.

This year, we are setting a bold new target — to reach 900 mothers across Zones A, B, and C of Niger State.

This expansion is designed to complement the giant strides of our Farmer Governor, His Excellency Muhammad Umaru Bago, and the noble efforts of the First Lady of Niger State, Her Excellency Hajiya Fatima Umaru Bago, whose unwavering commitment to women, children, and families continues to inspire us.

The Support a Mother Project is more than the distribution of maternal kits. It is a gesture of love, solidarity, and collective responsibility — a way of standing with our mothers in their most important role.

Through this initiative, ZMBI is investing in healthier families, stronger communities, and a brighter tomorrow for Niger State and Nigeria as a whole.

When a woman leads with compassion, communities flourish.

Through her ZMB Initiative, Hajiya Zainab Muhammad (Haske) is once again proving that her heart beats for humanity. On Saturday, 23rd August 2025, her initiative will launch the “Save a Mother Project” — a bold step towards safe delivery in our communities.

💡 At this event, 300 women will receive free birth-kits, a lifeline for expectant mothers who too often face preventable risks during childbirth.

The statistics are staggering: 205 women die every single day from complications of pregnancy and childbirth in Nigeria — that’s one mother every 10 minutes. But Haske refuses to accept this reality. She is working to change it, one mother, one family, one community at a time.

For years, she has stood as a pillar of empowerment in Chanchaga, supporting women with resources, direct financial empowerment, relief for pregnant and lactating mothers, and millions invested in human capital development. Now, with the Save a Mother Project, she is scaling her compassion into a structured solution that addresses one of the most urgent health crises in our society.

🌟 Hajiya Zainab Muhammad is more than a name; she is a movement of light (Haske), a rare blend of vision and action, and a leader whose impact continues to resonate beyond words.

👉 When history remembers the champions of women in Chanchaga, Haske will forever stand tall.

Why Hajiya Zainab Muhammad (Haske) Remains Chanchaga’s Unmatched Voice for Women

In every generation, certain individuals emerge whose presence transforms their communities. For Chanchaga Local Government, that person is undeniably Hajiya Zainab Muhammad, fondly called Haske.

What sets Haske apart is not merely her influence but the consistency of her compassion. At a time when many leaders speak about women empowerment in abstract terms, she has lived it — channeling her personal resources to ensure women do not just survive, but thrive.

Her interventions have been both practical and heartfelt. From providing relief packs to pregnant and lactating mothers, to direct monetary support for struggling women, Haske has created lifelines for families at their most vulnerable moments. These are not seasonal gestures but a pattern of care that has become her identity.

Beyond welfare, Haske has invested millions of naira in human capital development, creating avenues for women to acquire skills, grow businesses, and stand on their own feet. This is empowerment in its truest form — not dependency, but dignity.

In a society where respect is earned, not demanded, Haske has become second to none in Chanchaga. She is respected not just because of what she gives, but because of the way she gives — quietly, consistently, and with an unmistakable sincerity.

To reduce her to the title of “benefactor” would be an understatement. She is a force of possibility, a reminder that women’s empowerment is not charity but an investment in the future of the entire community.

As Chanchaga continues to grow, one truth is clear: the story of its women cannot be told without the name of Haske. She is, and remains, a beacon of hope and a model of what purposeful leadership looks like at the grassroots.
