Two days ago, our General Manager, Mrs. Aisha M. Abdulkadir CPM, attended the 2nd National Conference of Nigerian Society of Engineers, Niger State Chapter (Bida Branch), as the Lead Presenter where she spoke on the theme: “Harnessing Smart Engineering Technology and Policy Integration for Sustainable Community Development in Nigeria.”

In her presentation, she emphasized that sustainable development can no longer be measured solely by the quantity of infrastructure delivered, but by how effectively such infrastructure improves human lives, strengthens communities, and remains functional over time through the alignment of the state and national policies with engineering innovations that solve real community problems.

She highlighted the critical role of smart engineering in addressing developmental challenges across Nigeria, noting that impactful engineering innovations are affordable, scalable, replicable, responsive to local realities and easy to maintain at the community level. Drawing practical examples from Niger State, she advocated for integrated approaches that promote climate-responsive infrastructure, renewable energy solutions, community waste management systems, circular economy initiatives, and improved agricultural processing technologies.

The presentation further stressed the importance of community participation and institutional collaboration in achieving long-term development outcomes. According to her, infrastructure projects become truly transformational when communities are actively involved from planning to implementation and maintenance stages. She therefore called for stronger synergy among engineers, policymakers, development practitioners, and communities in building resilient, people-centered infrastructure systems that will drive inclusive and sustainable development across Nigeria.

Earlier today, officials from the Niger State Ministry for Rural and Community Development, led by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Yakubu Mohammed Bello, alongside representatives of the Niger State Planning Commission and NG-CSDA, carried out Monitoring and Evaluation visits to ongoing/completed micro-projects across Minna, including Kafin Tela Primary School, UBEC Smart School, Barikin Sale Primary School, and PHC Kutiriko, Fadikpe.

The Permanent Secretary expressed satisfaction with the quality and progress of the renovation works, commending NG-CSDA for its professionalism, efficiency, and commitment to impactful community development.

The inspection further reaffirmed the government’s resolve to ensure that ongoing projects are delivered to standard and continue to positively impact the lives of communities across Niger State.

The report highlights key outcomes, performance insights, and the impact of various interventions across benefiting communities, reinforcing the Agency’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and evidence-based decision-making in project implementation.

The Niger State Community and Social Development Agency (NG-CSDA) recently received the Niger State Chapter of the National Council for Women’s Societies (NCWS) on a courtesy visit aimed at fostering collaboration for women’s empowerment and improved grassroot healthcare delivery.

The NCWS State President, Justina Yakubu, commended the Agency’s impactful strides in upgrading and expanding Primary Healthcare Centres across the state, noting the positive impact on women and families. She also highlighted key areas for partnership, including economic empowerment, capacity building, and support for vulnerable groups.

In her response, the General Manager, Aisha Abdulkadir CPM, appreciated the visit and expressed confidence in the council’s vision. She reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to supporting initiatives that drive inclusive and sustainable development, while pledging to serve as an advocate for NCWS.

Together, we are building stronger communities and creating lasting impact for women across Niger State.

Last week, the Niger State Community and Social Development Agency (NG-CSDA), received the Executive Director, Niger State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Jinaidu Inuwa and his team on a courtesy visit, aimed at fostering stronger partnership as key stakeholders in primary healthcare development.

The ED commended NG-CSDA for its impactful work in expanding access to Primary Healthcare Centres, notable infrastructure development, and technical support in healthcare models across communities.

In her response, the General Manager NG-CSDA, Mrs Aisha M Abdulkadir CPM, highlighted their longstanding collaboration, noting that the vision for Level 2 PHCs was built through shared commitment. She also expressed readiness for joint supervision, enhanced information sharing, and also congratulated the Executive Director, NGPHCDA on his appointment.

Together, we remain committed to improving healthcare access and outcomes for communities across Niger State.
