UNRBDA COMMEMORATES WORLD RIVERS DAY WITH CALL FOR SUSTAINABLE WATER MANAGEMENT.
The Upper Niger River Basin Development Authority (UNRBDA) Tudun Fulani Minna Niger state marked World Rivers Day on September 29, 2025, with a call for sustainable water management practices to protect the nation's precious water resources.
Dr. Abubakar Abdullahi Kuso, Executive Director of Planning and Design, led the commemoration alongside the Managing Director, Executive Directors, and staff of the UNRBDA. The event highlighted the importance of rivers in supporting ecosystems, livelihoods, and economies.
"Rivers are lifelines for our planet, and their preservation is crucial for the well-being of both humans and the environment," said the Managing Director of UNRBDA. "We must work together to ensure the sustainable management of our water resources for future generations."
The commemoration featured discussions on the importance of river conservation, sustainable development, and community engagement. Participants emphasized the need for collective action to protect rivers from pollution, dam construction, and climate change.
