OPPONENT PARTIES NOT A BATTLE: A MESSAGE TO THE NIGERIAN YOUTHS!
Youths are perceived as future leaders of nations, bringing digital innovations, proffering solutions of past problems into active modern solutions, canvassing communities for social change and shaping policies.
In Nigeria, over 60 percent of its population are youths who previously faced severe rejection burdens in the political system due to the perception of not given opportunities in politics and policy making decisions for economic growth, good educational standards, ensure future needs of the masses and, creating fairer and stable laws.
All these changed and shifted the mindset of Nigerian youths, giving them a beacon of hope when the 'Not Too Young To Run' act was signed into law, lowering the legal age requirement to run for office, leaving them with a breath of fresh air.
Nigerian political system from the past has been known for violence due to its competitive nature between opposition parties with the ideology of the elite force, creating hostility rather than showcasing patriotism. This has rubbed-off on the youths.
The youths of today should be guided that having an opponent party running for the same office at any level is not a battle, but it should be a peaceful dialogue of ideas for economic growth, better policies, fairer laws, and having a better society for every Nigerian, making Nigeria an accomodative place for everyone and the world at large.
Nigerian youths should desist from conflict with opposition parties rather than keep allowing history to repeat itself. Violence is not a tool to offer alternative governance because that is not what democracy is all about, but the tool to be used is the voice of love, peace, unity, hope and an act of patriotism.
In Nigeria political system today, the youths should not see opponent parties as an opportunity for battle, rather embrace it as a medium for progress of the nation with processes that will bring gradual change to the society.
