WAVES TOO STRONG TO CONTEST! NDI NNEWI NORTH DELIVER UNOPPOSED MANDATE TO HON. ECHEZONA ANAZODO AS A REWARD FOR RESULTS
The just concluded Local Government Area election in Nnewi North has written history in bold letters. Hon. Echezona Anazodo has emerged victorious unopposed, and that landslide consensus is not by accident. It is the verdict of the people. It is the reward for performance. It is democracy speaking in its clearest form.
In the political history of Nnewi North LGA, it is rare to see a leader return to the ballot without a single contender daring to stand against him. That alone tells the story. The message from Ndi Nnewi is simple and loud, how can one contend with a man who in just two years accomplished what many who sat in that same office for decades could not achieve since the inception of Nnewi North.
The reality on ground was so overwhelming that other political parties, after assessing his waves, his acceptance across wards, and his formidable working relationship with the governor, wisely withdrew their interest to participate in the election. They saw the handwriting on the wall. They saw a Mayor who had already won the hearts of the people long before ballot papers were printed.
Within a short span of two years, Hon. Echezona Anazodo redefined what local government leadership should look like. He did not come to occupy office. He came to work. He came to serve. He came to build.
He built and rehabilitated roads that had become death traps, opening up communities and restoring ease of movement for traders, students, and families.
He invested directly in our people. Thousands of youths were empowered through massive skill acquisition programs, and were not left to struggle alone. They were supported with seed capital running into millions of naira to enable them to start up businesses and become employers of labor instead of job seekers. That is leadership that creates wealth from the grassroots.
He gave Nnewi a new face of commerce by building and giving our markets a facelift, restoring order, dignity, and profitability to the engine room of our economy. He tackled sanitation head on by providing trucks for waste management and disposal, because a clean Nnewi is a healthy Nnewi and a prosperous Nnewi.
In a bold and unprecedented move, he acquired a fire truck and modern fire suppression equipment. Today the effects of fire disasters in our LGA and beyond have been drastically reduced. Lives and properties that would have been lost are now being saved because a Mayor chose to think ahead and act decisively.
He remembered the farmers, the backbone of our food security. He empowered them with crops, seedlings, and cash support to expand production and guarantee food on our tables. He renovated waterways and created channels for free flood passage, protecting homes and businesses from yearly devastation.
Above all, he anchored free medical treatment for the vulnerable and supported every system and structure that channels toward the growth and development of Nnewi. He governed with both compassion and competence, and in doing so, he aligned Nnewi North with the development agenda of His Excellency, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo.
This is why the people refused to gamble with change. This is why there was no opposition. Because when a leader delivers, the people will always return him.
Ndi Nnewi North, this unopposed victory is more than a win. It is a sacred trust. It is a second chance and a bigger mandate for Hon. Echezona Anazodo to do even more than he did in his first term. The foundation has been laid. The structures are in place. Now is the time to consolidate, to expand, and to take Nnewi North to greater heights in partnership with the state government.
Therefore, I call on all sons and daughters of Nnewi North, across party lines, across quarters, to rally fully behind Hon. Echezona Anazodo. Let us give him the peace, the support, and the cooperation he needs to serve us even better. A government that works should not be distracted. A government that delivers should be strengthened.
