IBESIKPO ASUTAN LG HOLDS PUBLIC HEARING ON DRAFT BYE LAWS.

Today, the 8th Ibesikpo Asutan Legislative Council held a Public Hearing and Presentation of draft Bye Laws to stakeholders across the Local Government at the Council Hall, Nung Udoe.

The session brought together traditional rulers, community leaders, civil society groups, market associations, youth and women groups, as well as relevant government officials, to deliberate on proposed bye laws aimed at strengthening grassroots governance and promoting orderly development within the local government.

During the hearing, members of the Legislative Council presented the draft bye laws and invited inputs, observations, and recommendations from stakeholders, reaffirming the Council’s commitment to inclusive lawmaking and participatory democracy.

Stakeholders in attendance commended the Legislative Council for opening the legislative process to public scrutiny and engagement, noting that the exercise would enhance transparency, ownership, and effective implementation of the bye laws once adopted.

The Legislative Council assured participants that all contributions would be carefully reviewed and reflected where necessary before the final passage of the bye laws.

The Executive Chairman, Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area, Rt. Hon. Edidiong Inyang who was ably represented by the Secretary of Council, commended the Legislative Council for their ingenuity in bringing on-board laws that will bring peace and development of our local government and assure accelerated assent when passed.

Today, the 8th Ibesikpo Asutan Legislative Council extends a warm invitation to the general public to participate in a Public Hearing on proposed Bills.

The Public Hearing is scheduled to hold at the Council Hall, Nung Udoe, by 10:00am.

As representatives of the people, the assembly believe that inclusive lawmaking begins with listening to the voices of our constituents. Hence, your input is vital in shaping policies that will impact our communities.

All stakeholders, community leaders, youth groups, women organizations, and members of the public are encouraged to attend and make meaningful contributions.

COUNCILLOR ATTRACTS ELECTRIC POLES TO ASUTAN WARD 3, COMMENDS EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN FOR FULFILLING PROMISES

​The Councillor representing Asutan Ward 3 and Leader of the 8th Legislative Assembly, Hon. Ubong Ekanem, has successfully facilitated the provision of electric poles to the ward, marking a significant milestone toward improved infrastructure and rural electrification in the area.

​The installation of the electric poles is expected to boost power supply, stimulate economic activities, and enhance the overall living conditions of residents across the ward. Community members have described the development as timely and impactful, noting that it brings long-awaited relief and progress closer to the people.

​In his remarks, Hon. Ubong Ekanem expressed profound gratitude to the Executive Chairman of Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area, Hon. Evan. Edidiong Inyang, for fulfilling his promise to the good people of Asutan Ward 3. He described the Chairman’s action as a clear demonstration of his unwavering commitment to grassroots development, responsive leadership, and the delivery of democratic dividends.

IBESIKPO ASUTAN LEGISLATURE RECEIVES 2026 PROPOSED BUDGET PRESENTED BY THE EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN

Today, the 8th Ibesikpo Asutan Legislative Council inline with their legislative mandate, received the Executive Chairman, Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area, Rt. Hon. Edidiong Inyang and his team in the legislative chambers to present the 2026 Proposed Appropriation Bill for consideration and passage.

The Chairman in his remarks, thanked Honourable Members for their immense cooperation and harmonious working relationship since the inception of the "New Era" administration.

The Leader, Ibesikpo Asutan Legislative Council, Hon. Ubong Ekanem in his speech commended the Executive Chairman for his effort towards institutional renewal and infrastructural repositioning, notably are construction of ICT centre and Office Complex, construction of Ultra Modern Legislative Chambers etc.

Hon. Ubong, urge all Honourable Members to approach the budget review process with seriousness, professionalism, unity of purpose and patriotic resolve. He further said that every naira appropriated must reflect the genuine needs, equity considerations, and long-term aspirations of the people we represent.
