HONOURABLE LUCKY JOHNSON CALLS FOR THE IMMEDIATE RELEASE OF MAZI NNAMDI KANU

Today, at the Abia State House of Assembly, during a motion of Urgent Public Importance, Hon. Lucky Udoka Nweke Johnson, representing Isuikwuato State Constituency, stood in solidarity with the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Austin Okezie, as he called for the immediate release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

The motion emphasized the critical need for Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s transfer to the National Hospital Abuja for urgent medical attention and care.

Honourable Lucky Johnson, pointed out that it is the responsibility of the members of the Abia State of Assembly to prioritize justice, equity, fair play, and the well-being of Nigerian citizens, leveraging the Nigerian Constitution.

The Honourable Member representing Isuikwuato State Constituency emphasized the urgency for all the States Houses of Assembly in the South-East bloc to rise to the occasion and address the case of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

He raised an alarming observation, stating that it now seems as though Nigeria operates under "two laws: one for common Nigerians and another against South-Eastern Nigerians, particularly Abians." This, he declared, is unacceptable, stressing that "an injury to one is an injury to all."

Honourable Lucky Johnson, further more, proposed that the members of the Abia State House of Assembly set aside one of the sitting sessions and mobilize to Abuja in protest of the lingering delay tactics hindering the processes of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's trial.

Honourable Lucky Johnson faulted the detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kalu, even as the ailing health conditions of Mazi Nnamdi Kalu deserve urgent attention.

Lucky Johnson commended the unrelenting efforts of Hon. Obi Aguocha of the Federal House of Representatives in following up consistently on the court proceedings and trials of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in Abuja.

Lucky Johnson, urged the South-East States governors, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, and other respected Igbo leaders to work in concerts, in unity and synergy for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kalu.
