The leadership of the *Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Okitipupa Local Government* today continued its reconciliation efforts as party leaders met with *Hon. Chief Segun Akinte*, a House of Assembly aspirant in the party’s primary election.

The meeting, held in a cordial atmosphere, was aimed at fostering unity, forgiveness, and cohesion within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Addressing the gathering, the *Local Government Party Chairman, Rt. Hon. Charles Titiloye* thanked everyone present for honouring the invitation. He preached *unity, dedication, and forgiveness*, emphasizing that _“everyone is important this time around.”_

_“We cannot go to an election with a divided house. This is the time to work as a team, to rebuild and to win together for the people of Okitipupa,”_ Rt. Hon. Titiloye said.

Ojajuni Olusegun Justice A.K.A OJAS*, the African Action Congress, AAC, House of Assembly Candidate for Okitipupa Constituency 1.

Hon. Akinjeji, in a condolence message, commiserated with the *Ojajuni family, the African Action Congress, AAC, the Ilutitun Community and the entire people of Okitipupa Constituency 1* over the irreparable loss.

He described the late *Hon. OJAS* as *"a great grassroots political mobilizer, a great revolutionary and a political guru per excellence."*

According to him, _"Ojas was a passionate advocate for the people. His commitment to grassroots politics, his boldness and his love for Okitipupa Constituency 1 will be sorely missed. His death is a big loss not only to AAC but to all of us in the political space."_

Every generation has its Nehemiah — a man called to rebuild what is broken, restore what is lost, and raise a new standard for his people.

For *Okitipupa Constituency 1*, that man is *Hon. Akinjeji Bankole*.

*A LEADER WITH A BUILDER'S HEART*
Hon. Akinjeji Bankole is not new to service. His journey in politics and public administration speaks of loyalty, capacity, and results.

He served as *State Administrative Secretary of AD and AC* in Ondo State, and rose to *Deputy Director* at *The Hope Newspaper and The Hope Magazine* under the administration of Dr. Olusegun Mimiko.

In 2026, he resigned to answer the call of his people — to come home and contest for the *Ondo State House of Assembly, Okitipupa Constituency 1*.

In recent times, the political landscape of *Okitipupa Constituency 1* has become a focal point for the entire Ikale nation. This is because of the immense human and leadership potential deposited by God in the region.

That potential has been tested severally on the field of politics, and one name continues to stand out: *Hon. Bamikole Akinjeji* — a politician, international journalist, and grassroots mobilizer with proven records.

*A TRACK RECORD OF SERVICE AND LEADERSHIP*
Hon. Akinjeji’s political journey reflects loyalty, capacity and results.

1. *Alliance for Democracy, AD*: He served as the *State Administrative Secretary* until the party metamorphosed into Action Congress, AC.
2. *Action Congress, AC*: He was retained as Administrative Secretary and later served as *Acting State Chairman*. It was during his tenure that *Amb. Sola Iji* emerged as the State Chairman of Action Congress in Ondo State.
3. *Labour Party, LP*: In the 2007 general elections, he played an active role in LP’s mobilization and organization.

In recognition of his dedication and competence, the then Governor of Ondo State, *Dr. Olusegun Abayomi Mimiko*, appointed him to head the administrative department of *The Hope Newspaper and The Hope Magazine*. Akinjeji Bamikole, on Monday, 10 August 2026, paid a consultative visit to Ogwa, the traditional secretariat of Ilutitun Kingdom, as part of his ongoing engagements with key stakeholders across the constituency.

Hon. Akinjeji Bamikole and his entourage were warmly received by members of the Ilutitun Traditional Council, Ijamas (High Chiefs), Ijoyes (Chiefs), and the Council of Women.

Addressing the traditional institution, Hon. Bamikole expressed his appreciation for the warm reception accorded him and acknowledged the significant role of traditional institutions in promoting peace, stability, unity and development within society.

He stated that his aspiration to represent Okitipupa Constituency 1 is driven by a commitment to effective, accountable and people oriented representation.
