A CALL FOR PEACE, JUSTICE AND CONSTITUTIONAL ORDER IN OMOKU YOUTH FEDERATION (OYF)

It is with great disappointment and deep concern that I address the people of Omoku on the current state of our beloved Omoku Youth Federation.

Following the painful loss of our OYF President, the Federation was thrown into a vacuum that demanded immediate constitutional action. To the surprise of many, the current Youth Administration has refused to call for a by-election to elect a new President from the rightful zone as enshrined in our constitution — the Obakata Zone.

What on earth will make someone hold on to what is not his, to the detriment of the people? It is laughable that those who claim to be educated and experienced in internal politics are the same ones trampling on the very rules meant to guide us.

This silence and disregard has led to tension, protests, and provocation among our youths. Our leaders, who should be "parents" to the youths, are instead provoking them to anger. The Holy Book warns that parents should not provoke their children to anger. Today, we are dangerously close to that line.

My Sincere Appeals:

1. To the good people of Obakata Zone: Unite peacefully and demand what is constitutionally yours. Do not allow another man’s mandate to override your own. This is about principle, not conflict.
2. To the Obieti Zone (Obieti Mandate): In the spirit of brotherhood, please call your own to order. Let us seek a common path to resolve this before it degenerates.
3. To the Usomini Zone: You are not left out. As stakeholders and brothers, we need your wise intervention to mediate and restore peace between two brothers before it is too late.
4. To our Traditional Rulers, Political Leaders, and Opinion Leaders: Please do not sweep this under the carpet. Rise now and resolve this matter amicably. The provocations in the land today are real and must not be ignored.

Omoku has bled before. We cannot afford another 2015. When brothers fight and kill themselves, a stranger inherits their land.

I therefore call on every youth of Omoku to embrace peace, brotherly love, and security consciousness. There is an evil discord sown in the land that awaits harvest, and its target is the destruction of Omoku again. We must not allow it.

Let us choose dialogue over division. Let us choose constitution over chaos. Let us choose Omoku over personal interest.

May peace reign in Omoku.

YPP ONELGA COMMENDS OSPAC FOR PROFESSIONALISM, UNITY AND COMMITMENT TO SECURING ONELGA

OMOKU, RIVERS STATE – The Young Progressives Party, YPP, ONELGA Chapter has commended the ONELGA Security Peace and Advisory Committee, OSPAC, for its resilience, robust security network structure, unity, coordination and accommodating spirit in the discharge of its duties across Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGA.

In a statement signed by the Chairman, ONELGA YPP, Hon. Ogbowu, Alwell Chinedu, the party said it paid an unannounced visit to the OSPAC Headquarters on Erema Street, Omoku to quietly observe the operations of the outfit.

“After my visit, I can boldly say that OSPAC has a standard of doing things that we should all support,” Hon. Ogbowu stated. “The outfit has learned personnel who are educated and perform their duties professionally. This is the kind of local security structure our land needs.”

The Chairman applauded the Outfit Secretary who received him without prior knowledge of his identity. He also noted the morale and camaraderie among the officers on duty.
“I was with the officers outside, and the fun was something else. It shows unity and team spirit. That is what builds trust between the security outfit and the people,” he added.

CALL FOR PUBLIC SUPPORT.
YPP ONELGA urged all sons and daughters of ONELGA to support OSPAC as a people and desist from backbiting or attempts to undermine the outfit.
“OSPAC needs our support, not sabotage. Many are already working to undo them. We must not allow politics and bitterness to destroy an institution that is keeping our communities safe,” the statement read.

CHARGE TO THE COMMANDER.
The party also called on Commander Emeka Onyeocha to consistently give orientation to his officers to improve their community relations and security service delivery.
“We charge the Commander to keep training his men, uphold discipline and professionalism at all times. This will make the people even happier with them and protect the good image OSPAC has built for itself,” Hon. Ogbowu said.

YPP ONELGA reaffirms its commitment to peace, security and development in ONELGA, and pledges to continue to partner with all stakeholders working for the safety of our land.

ONELGA YPP Calls for Unity and Issue-Based Politics Ahead of 2027 Elections
Party Seeks Collaboration with Youth and Leaders to Restore Development in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGA

Omoku, Rivers State – 28 June 2026 – The Young Progressives Party (YPP) in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA) has called on political stakeholders, youth leaders, and community influencers to unite for the advancement of the LGA as political activities build up toward the 2027 general elections.

In a statement issued today by the ONELGA YPP Chairman, Hon. Ogbowu Alwell Chinedu, the party said it is open to collaboration with “genuine sons and daughters of ONELGA, especially the youths ready to take up leadership roles in restoring peace, development, and productivity in the land.”

“We believe ONELGA’s progress depends on constructive engagement and shared responsibility. YPP is ready to work with all active political players, analysts, and community voices who are committed to bringing back the political and developmental momentum ONELGA is known for,” Hon. Ogbowu stated.

The party also affirmed that it is open for collaboration with our people in all ramifications, aimed at attracting development and productivity to our land by supporting and electing those who can represent us genuinely at all levels.

The party further urged media aides and supporters of senior political figures in ONELGA to uphold responsible communication on social and traditional media platforms.

“Political campaigns should focus on ideas, records, and solutions, not personal attacks and defamation. The use of abusive language and name-calling only deepens division and sends the wrong signal about ONELGA to the rest of Rivers State and Nigeria,” the statement read.

YPP appealed to senior politicians across party lines to guide their supporters toward issue-based campaigning and to promote a political culture that encourages participation without hostility.

“YPP offers ONELGA Constituency I and II a platform for credible, youth-driven, and development-focused leadership. Our goal is to restore public trust and deliver tangible results for our people,” Hon. Ogbowu added.

The party reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive politics, peace, and the mobilization of young leaders for effective representation in 2027.

On this 12th of June, Nigeria’s Democracy Day, I, Hon. Maduakolam Radiant Enoch, send my heartfelt greetings to the good people of Onelga Constituency 2 – Egbema, Ndoni, and Usomini.

Today marks the victory of the people’s will and the strength of our democracy. I salute you, the people of Constituency 2, for your courage, patience, and unwavering belief in a Nigeria where every voice matters. Your stand for democracy and peace is the foundation upon which we must build a better Onelga.

As we mark this day, I urge our youths and all citizens of Egbema, Ndoni, and Usomini to reject violence, cultism, and all actions that threaten the peace of our communities. Our strength is in unity. Let us protect our peace, because only in a peaceful environment can development, jobs, and opportunity thrive for our children.

What I Will Work to Achieve for Constituency 2

2. Quality Education: Push for better schools, learning materials, and scholarships for students across Egbema, Ndoni, and Usomini.
