I stood from the sofa and strolled around the living room, smiling as my gaze landed on a picture of Francesca smiling into the camera with her father, I sauntered to the picture and continued smiling, my gaze trailed to another picture of Francesca, Kara, and their father. I shut my eyes and groaned silently. A tear slid down my cheeks and I sniffed.
If only Kara did not die, I won't have to deal with all these “I mumbled”. I caressed the picture as I continued sniffing, trying to hold back the tears threatening to fall down my cheeks.
Kara “I whispered”
I'm sorry “I spoke in a muffled voice”
I shifted my gaze momentarily to another picture and I sprang back immediately. I batted my lids continuously while cocking my elegant eyebrows confused. I folded my hands in a ball of fist beside me and tightened my jaw. Why is this picture here? Is Francesca seeing Ryan? “different thoughts raced through my mind as I gawked at the picture of Ryan and Francesca holding hands, smiling into the camera”
Isn't this America? “I asked himself” When did they take this picture? Was it after Ryan left Switzerland? Was it while I was in Africa? “I bit my lower lips and ran my hands into my hair angrily”. Ryan and Francesca were never close. Could it…"? I trailed off and s***k my head”

The buzzing sound of a phone je**ed me out of my thoughts and I turned around to see her phone on the table.
Francesca, your phone is ringing “I yelled”

I threw myself on the soft sofa across the table and shoved my phone out of my pocket. Her phone rang again, and I wrinkled my nose in disgust at the buzzing sound. I ignored it until it rang the third time and I angrily took it.
Franca, come and pick up your phone “I hollered”. I heard her footsteps descending the stairs.
Suddenly, a message flew in after the call, and I turned the phone over when my gaze caught 💓RYAN💓. My heartbeat rose immediately as I was about to read the content of the message when Francesca je**ed the phone away from my grip. I tilted my head and my eyes met her gaze beaming with horror, and she was heaving as she had just run a marathon
Calvin, I hate it when people intrude on my privacy. I won't let it slide if it happens again "she said not spearing me a glance”
I sprang back in surprise and left my mouth hanging in the air.

I have never seen this side of her before, what could be wrong? “I thought aloud”. I stole a look at the pictures again, and my mind whirled back to 💓RYAN💓. I puffed out air and twirled my hair behind my ear.

I grabbed my car keys and dashed to the front door. Francesca, you'd better not know anything about how Ryan fled from Switzerland; I won't forgive you if you have a hand in it “I said”

I puffed out air as I stuck the cigarette deep in my mouth. I held the Vodka with my right hand and gulped it down my throat. I stood angrily pacing around the room with the cigarette in my hand.
I am holding myself from acting faster than my brain. Why?? “I screamed and threw the bottle of Vodka on the tiled floor”
Why do I always have to sacrifice my happiness for someone else, why?? “I yelled and folded my hand in a ball of fist”

Little Crystal stood at the entrance of the school gate looking down the street impatiently. The cloud began to hid behind darkness and she started to fret.
What's taking mummy long? She promised to come early "she whined in a sulky way". It seems as though it will rain soon. "She grumbled".
Gust of wind began to blow in her direction, blowing up her skirt. She fluttered her eyes while avoiding the dust from entering her eyes. She rushed back into the school as her hair slapped her face.
Mummy!!" She cried and wrapped her arms around her body".

Shortly afterwards, a red car drove into her school and stopped before her. She lifted her head hopefully and focused on it. The door opened revealing a short lady with a dark skin(the darker version of light skin), a pale wide lips and green eyes. She arranged her suit sauntering towards Crystal.
My little pumpkin "She walked swifly to her, chewing the inside of her cheeks". I'm sorry I came late, I had a lot on my table " She said crouching to her height"
"Crystal rather threw her a midly quizzical look and rose her eyebrows imperatively." I hope you did not miss your way? "She scoffed and rolled her eyes".
She's so brazen for a little girl "Lora gruffed"
Aren't you going to tell me who you are and why you are here? "she stood akimbo with her eyebrows dancing in a deep frown"
She is just like the rude Ann. She did so well to train her daughter to take after her rudeness "she thought angrily".
Suddenly, her gaze landed on her cute grey eyes and she widened her gaze in disbelief. She stepped forward a bit but Crystal snapped her out of it with a hiss.
Those eyes...they look familiar "Lora thought"
I'm sorry, Crystal, I was just carried away, you have cute eyes "She said expecting her cheeks to hit up with redness, but instead she scoffed".
If you think that's one of your trick, then I'm afraid it's not working on me " She replied scanning her body". Hold on! "She deepened her frown and twitched her lips in grimace"
If I heard you well, you called my name. How do you know my name? "She asked boring her gaze into her"
I'm your mummy's colleague at work, she is sick, so she asked me to pick you up "she replied quickly"
Sick?? "She spoke in a half-yelled whisper". Mummy is sick? "She asked impatiently throwing her gaze sideways, then back at Lora momentarily" But how do I believe you are saying the truth? " She asked trying to hide her fear for her sick mum"
Lora's hope began to shred apart. "How else I'm I going to get her inside that car? " She thought"
Aren't you going to answer me young lady? "she snapped her fingers at her and she spluttered nervously"
How can she be so brazen despite the fact that she is in a tight corner? "She thought again"
Thunder rumbled in the sky and Lora looked up to the sky.
Crystal, its going to rain soon, you of all people knows Annabelle will not forgive herself if you are out in the rain "she said with the utmost concern"
She even knows mummy's name "she mumbled"
However, you can stay here if you don't trust me; Annabelle will come pick you up "she said and was about to go when Crystal called her"
Okay "she said reluctantly, walking towards the car"

A smirk escaped Lora's lips as she controlled the stairing.
Ann, this is just the beginning "she thought"

Ann, what is the meaning of this? "I yelled as anger clouded my face" I was out there receiving torrents of insults just because of you "I folded my hand in a ball of fist and clamped my lips angrily". I thought you said you were sick " I smirked"
Dana, I'm sorry. "She mounted"
Dana, if there is anyone you need to blame, it should be me "Tyler said" And you really interrupted our love session "He teased, winkling at Ann who shot him a glare".
Ann, where's my baby? "I asked roving my gaze around the house. Her eyes popped wider and she spun around to glance at the wall clock.
Holy Mary! I didn't know it had past her closing time! My baby! "She screamed".
Tyler rushed to her and held her shoulders. Calm down Ann, you don't have to worry, I will pick her up" He said".
She must have been waiting "She said worriedly and hurried to the window"
Tyler, it's about to rain. "She whispered".
He hastily grabbed his car keys and made a dash to the front door. I gazed at her as she gripped the curtains like her life depended on it.
She really likes her daughter. "I thought and moved closer to her." It's okay "I said"
She swirled around and held my hand.
Dana, do you really think I'm the best mother for her? I'm I doing the right thing? Why did I place my personal feelings above my daughter? "She said and slumped down onto the floor as streams of tears ran down her cheeks"
I don't know why I'm emotional, but I'm afraid I won't forgive myself if anything happens to her "She said"
I squatted before her and pull her in a warm hug. Ann, you are the best mum for her. You have always given her your all. Ann, "I tilted my head and cupped her cheeks in my hands" you don't have to feel guilty for loving a man, you waited for years thinking her dad would come back but he never did. You are doing this for her. She needs a father figure in her life "I said and embraced her"
I will tell her about the inauguration party when Tyler is back with Crystal. She is tense now "I thought"

My stomach lurched in happiness as Crystal hopped into the car. A smirk escaped my lips and I grabbed the steering happily. She turned her gaze to the road and rested her jaw on the window glass. I drove out of the compound and saw a black racing car moving towards the school.

Gosh "I scoff". I think that is Ann coming "I thought". I hastily wind up the tinted glass and Crystal threw me a quizzical look. The car raced past mine and I smiled. I gripped the steering and sped off.
Ann, the fight has begun "I said mentally"

Filled with anger, he folded his hands into a ball of fist and clenched his jaw tightly. Peeking sideways, he slipped the gun into his pocket, and bit his lower lips.
I hope I'm wrong. I'm afraid I will finish him if it turns out to be the truth “He said aloud”
Louis, this had better be a lie “He briefly closed his eyes and a tear escaped the corner of his eyes”. With swift motions, he rubbed the tear off his face and sniffed.
Crying is a sign of weakness, get a hold of yourself. “ He told himself as he hopped into his car”

With his heart beating in wild several thuds, he gripped the steering and kicked off.
Lost in thought, oblivious of his phone buzzing crazily, he drove into LOUIS house and jammed his car into the parking lot. He spun around and deepened his brows in fear.
What has happened? “He asked fearfully”
He saw the gate widely open with no gatekeeper guiding it, he rushed into the main building and kicked the door open. Momentarily, fear suspended in his throat as he gazed at a masked man dressed in a black outfit all through pointing two guns to Louis, his father.
The masked man laughed wickedly on seeing him and directed a gun to him; he stole a look at his helpless father, who was making cues he could not understand.
Unexpectedly, a feeling brushed through him, and he brought out his gun, holding it fearfully with a shaking hand.
Boy, come'on, Louis has trained you; I think you will be useful for us after he is gone “The masked man said and burst into a gust of laughter”
Who are you? “He asked trying to hide his fear”
Who I am doesn't matter, but the reason I'm here matters “He paused and pulled the guns at Louis who was pleading tamely”
Louis carried out an order behind boss knowledge “he paused and gulped in air”. His mistake has cost him to lose fortunes," He yelled". I'm killing this thing now “He said, and I felt my body building up with full rage”
Are you the boss? “Cocking his eyebrows at him, he moved a little closer to him”.

Without thinking twice, he(Louis's son stretched his gun forward, held the gun tightly with his(Louis's son) two hands; the masked man shifted his gaze to him and he(Louis's son) pulled the trigger.
Chrustiannnnnn….” He heard a loud scream from behind and blanked out.

She stood up reluctantly and strolled towards the door; holding the doorknob, she spun around and threw me an enigmatic stare”

I sat up impatiently as I held my head which was spinning wildly, my heart beating in several racing thuds, fear gripped me and paralyzed me, I sat there with different thoughts and scenario playing at the back of my head"
What exactly is about to happen? Why that dream of all dreams? It felt so real, It was as though someone turned back the hands of the clock. “I felt a lump in my throat and coughed slightly”
How did I get here? “I tilted my head and bit my lower lips angrily” who brought me here? Why didn't the person leave me to die? “I half-yelled,”
For how long will I keep holding this pain and suffering from it? “I thought as tears rolled down my cheeks”

Pain clouded Calvin's countenance as he gazed at the medications in his hands. He ran his hands through his head and banged his fist on the table. He stood up and strode to the window,
Why would she do this? “He thought aloud to himself”
Several justifications ran through his mind and he breathed heavily. He slumped himself onto the bed and fixed his gaze on the medication, fiddling it in between his thumbs.

Ann giggled as she stole a surreptitious look at herself in the mirror. She killed the engine of the car while moistening her lips, she grabbed her bag on the passenger seat after which she stepped down, and the gatekeeper bowed to her. With a smiling face, she pushed a button at the entrance and the door slid away, paving way for her. Her feet pattering softly on the tiled floor, she descended up the stairs. Drawing the doorknob to herself, the door flew open, and she jumped on Calvin, who stood still like a frozen ghost.
She tilted her head to gape at him, and she drew her brows, confused. He withdrew from the hug, and she deepened a frown.
Babe, what's wrong? “She asked and flopped her bag on the bed”
Calvin folded his arms in a ball of fist and breathed heavily. He turned his back against her as he gripped the medication tightly. The confused Ann sauntered to him and stood before him.
Calvin, I'm your wife, whatever the problem is, just tell me “She cried”.
Calvin smirked and treated her to his coldest stare, Ann sprang back in fear and Calvin walked towards her until her back touched the wall. He oversaw Ann and incarcerated her in his hands. He opened his palm and showed her the medication.
Ann, what is this? “ He asked with an ounce of anger”
“She fretted in his hands and her lips quivered”. Ca… Calvin. " She stuttered”
Ann, prove me wrong. Have you been on pills all this while? “He asked”
Calvin, I can explain” She said”
“His face darkened with anger, and shut his eyes tightly”. But Ann" He paused and slammed his fist against the wall”.
Calvin, I'm still young to be a mother. I have dreams also; I can't allow anything to shatter my dreams now “She cried”
He flipped his eyes open, and it was red. His gaze landed on her face, and he smirked.
He opened his mouth to speak but couldn't find what to say. He folded the medication in his hands as rage consumed him.

Please, “He shut her up with a wave”
Ann tugged at his shirt and tears slid down his cheeks.
Calvin, you are hurting me “She cried”
He turned to look at her and his face softened.
Calvin, I'm sorry, I also wish to have your babies but… "She lost her words as her gaze met his glare”. Calvin”she whispered”
Ann, let me be, I understand you are too young to have a baby for me “he said hurtfully, sauntering down towards a stand, he shoved the medication into a basket and inhaled deeply.

She twirled her long hair in between her fingers and moistened her pink lips”
Calvin “she whispered and rested on his flat chest. She nibbled his ni**le with her thumb, and he groaned”
Ann doesn't start what you can't finish “he said in-between groans while she continued nibbling his ni**le. He closed his eyes briefly and pushed her gently from him, he landed his gaze on her already wet lips and claimed it in a kiss”....

I arranged the files on my desk and kept them in the drawer. Evening air raised the curtains and flopped my hair, I looked behind to ensure I had arranged the office and left. I climbed down the stairs and arrived at the lobby. I yawned lazily as I walked to the facade of the building. Suddenly, I felt a waft of wind blowing to my side, it lifted my hair which slapped my face. I twirled the hair behind my ear, but it seems the wind was waging war on my hair. I sighed in frustration as I ran back to the lobby.
What's wrong, is it going to rain? “I thought as I looked into the sky turning black”. I wrapped my arms around my body as the cold wind pierced through my skin.
My phone vibrated in my pocket and I groped for it. I deepened the frown on my face as I looked into the phone
Unrestricted number? “I soliloquized”
I hesitated for a while before I punched in the receiving key and placed it against my left ear.
Christian is in the hospital. “Fear paralyzed me and my legs began to shake vehemently”
Please where is he? “My voice dropped into a whisper”
The caller gave me the details and hung up the call before I could ask for further information.
I hastily walked into the rain and hailed down a cab.
Where is he in the hospital? Christian must not die.

I squandered my gaze to the mirror and a blush crept up my cheeks. I spun around and took my black bag from the table.

“I heard a distinct voice in the background which snagged my attention away from my thoughts”

I opened my eyes and my gaze was blurry, I saw the image of Calvin before me, looking at me with those loving eyes. My stomach lurched with happiness and I found myself moving close to him, thinking he was Calvin.
Our faces were inches away, and he continued moving close to me, I shut my eyes expecting his lips to do justice to me, but it was just a fallacy.
With lips centimeters away, I could feel his warm breath on my nape, he leaned towards me to kiss me when the door flew open.
We turned to the door and my face wrinkled with confusion. I threw my gaze sideways, and I became more confused.
Fear crumbled deep inside me and I sprang back in horror.

The door to my office flew open; the fierce gaze of Mr. Blake popped up, and I lowered my head in respect. I cocked my brows as he stood still, sending daggers at me. He wobbled towards me and slammed his fist on my desk.
How dare you make the CEO think I'm incompetent? “He yelled” it's obvious you and your friend wants my year of service to be nothing “he paused and walked around”. The new CEO is a no-nonsense man, and I'm afraid she won't stay long here because I won't allow her to drag my reputation in the mud.
Annabelle is fond of coming late to work, but that man up there will not hesitate to wisps those who are not competent for this job. “ My breath suspended in my throat as his words were like the drop of a bombshell”.

He shut his eyes and ran his hands through his angrily.

Tears slid sideways my cheeks as I lightened the cigarette. Lying down on the bed, I reminisced on what happened years ago.
If only my dad did not involve himself in this dirty business, I'd be safe; If only he left me to leave my life, “I screamed and slammed the cup onto the plasma hung against the wall.

I groped for the phone on my bed with squinted eyes and yawned lazily. I stole a look at the screen and my eyes flipped open.
Calvin “I whispered into the phone”
Francesca, are you okay? “His voice came into the phone, for a moment, I lost it and began to smile like an idiot.
Calvin, I'm fine. Hope everything is okay, why did you call? “ I asked with concern dancing on my face”
No “He paused and sighed”. I have a lot on my mind; I'm afraid I will lose my mind” He said, and I sprang up the bed”.

I just can't seem to get Ann off my mind. Many things are happening lately “He said, and I felt a pang of pain in my heart”

Ryan “I paused as I sunk into a nearby cushion. I crossed my straight legs and took the cup of water standing graciously on my glass, shining table. Likewise, I took a sip, then held it in between my hands.”
Ann is in Spain. “I said fearfully, and he yelped”

Ryan, to worsen the matter, she works at MC company.
