ADDRESSING THE EROSION SITES AFFECTING OUR ENVIRONMENT

How I Plan to Tackle the Erosion Menace Through Federal Intervention

As part of my commitment to the people of Onitsha North and Onitsha South Federal Constituency, one of the critical issues I intend to take to Abuja is the urgent environmental menace caused by erosion across our communities.

From the erosion site at Nkisi Aroli Inland Town, to the erosion site currently devastating Omagba Phase 2, directly behind Hello Gas Filling Station; from the erosion site along Mgbemene Street by Vinee Oil, beside the Enugu–Onitsha Expressway between Green Seeds Market and MCC, to the erosion site within the Nigeria Army Cantonment, Onitsha, affecting areas around Mammy Market and Block 17 in Ward 9, Onitsha North LGA — the situation requires urgent and decisive intervention.

We also have erosion challenges around Trans-Nkisi, Akpaka, Federal Housing/Odonjisi in Ward 12, Onitsha North LGA, and several other locations across our constituency.

Every day, vast portions of land and buildings are being threatened and lost to these expanding erosion sites. This is not something we can continue to overlook.

The erosion sites are widening unabated, threatening homes, businesses, roads, livelihoods and, most importantly, human lives.

As a lawmaker, I will not look away from problems affecting my people.

I will bring the environmental challenges confronting our constituency to the attention of the Federal Government through a Motion of Urgent National Importance on the floor of the National Assembly, followed by sustained legislative engagement and advocacy until the necessary intervention is secured.

I intend to work towards attracting the relevant Federal Government agencies and intervention programmes, including the Federal Ministry of Environment, Ecological Project Office and other appropriate agencies responsible for erosion control and watershed management, to our constituency.

Erosion is not merely an environmental issue. It is an existential threat to our communities.

We must protect our homeland, save our properties and secure the future of our people through deliberate legislative action and effective federal intervention.

Representation must go beyond speaking during elections. It must be about understanding the problems of the people, taking those problems to the appropriate authorities, and following through until solutions are delivered.

That is the kind of representation I am offering.

I understand our people. I understand the challenges confronting our communities. And I am prepared to take those challenges to Abuja.

Onitsha North/Onitsha South deserves a grassroots representative who understands the people and understands the problems we collectively face.

The Game Changer is here.

I humbly ask for your support and your votes as I seek to represent Onitsha North/Onitsha South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

Together, we can attract the attention, intervention and resources our constituency deserves.

Vote APGA for House of Representatives on January 16, 2027.

Hon. Nweze Tony Nwora

I joined the family, friends and well-wishers of late Azubuike Clement Oburota, who passed on at the age of 86, to bid him a final farewell.

As the father-in-law of Mrs. Chinwendu Oburota, a member of the Game Changer Movement, Ward 13, Onitsha North, I stood with her, the family and their loved ones during this solemn moment.

It was a time to honour the memory of a man who lived a meaningful life and to show our support and solidarity with the family in their moment of grief.

My prayers remain with the entire family. May God grant them the strength and comfort to bear this great loss, and may the gentle soul of Pa Azubuike Clement Oburota rest in perfect peace.

EMPOWERING OUR YOUTH, BUILDING A STRONGER FUTURE

On Sunday, 30th August 2026, I joined other well-meaning stakeholders at the Anambra Youth Empowerment Conference 2026, hosted by Christ Embassy Mega Church, Onitsha, under the leadership of Pastor Archie Aseme.

It was inspiring to see hundreds of young people gathered with a shared desire to learn, grow and create better opportunities for themselves.

I particularly commend the organisers for making youth empowerment a practical conversation, with emphasis on skills, innovation, entrepreneurship and the opportunities available to young people in today's economy.

I also appreciate the contribution of the Solution Innovation District and Ms. Chinwe Okoli for highlighting the availability of free digital-skills training and encouraging our young people to turn knowledge into sustainable economic opportunities.

As a government and as leaders, our responsibility is not only to speak about the future of our young people, but to create the environment and opportunities that allow them to thrive.

When we empower our youth, we strengthen our families, our communities and the future of Onitsha and Anambra State.

I commend Christ Embassy Mega Church, Onitsha, for this laudable initiative and encourage our young people to take advantage of every genuine opportunity to acquire skills, build businesses and become self-reliant.

Our youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow. They are partners in building Anambra today.

A DAY OF THANKSGIVING, 1 YEAR REMEMBRANCE AND COMMUNITY

On Sunday, 30th August 2026, I joined family, friends and well-wishers at the thanksgiving service organised by Hon. Patrick Agha-Mba, Anambra State Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, in loving remembrance of his late mother.

It was a solemn and meaningful occasion a moment to give thanks to God for a life that touched many, and to celebrate the enduring values and memories left behind.

The gathering also brought together several distinguished APGA stakeholders and leaders, including Distinguished Senator Stella Adaeze Oduah and the incoming Mayor of Onitsha North, Hon. Chukwuemelie Ezennia Ibekwe, among other notable guests.

Beyond politics and public service, moments like this remind us of the importance of family, community, friendship and shared values.

I was honoured to be part of this special occasion and to stand with Hon. Patrick Agha-Mba and his family in thanksgiving and remembrance.

May the soul of his beloved mother continue to rest in perfect peace.
