Good people of Osun State know the difference between hardship and progress. We remember the days of half salaries, abandoned projects, neglect of pensioners, and policies that brought suffering to workers and ordinary citizens across the state.

Today, the story is different under the administration of Asiwaju Senator Nurudeen Ademola Jackson Adeleke, roads are being constructed, workers are valued again, communities are feeling the impact of government, and hope has returned to many homes through the Imole administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

Those who supervised failure yesterday cannot deceive the people with another face today. Osun is wiser, more aware, and fully ready to protect the progress already achieved.

The people spoke in 2022, and they will speak even louder again.

Imole till 2030.

Gov. Adeleke: Osun Is President’s Home, Must Not Be Turned Into Battleground.

OSOGBO - 04/09/2025 - Osunstate.gov.ng

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has called on security agencies to remain neutral and professional in the unfolding political atmosphere, stressing that Osun, being the home state of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, must not be turned into a political battleground.

The Governor made this appeal during the decoration ceremony of his Aide-De-Camp (ADC), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ahmed Bio Abdulraman, held at the Government House, Osogbo. The event had in attendance the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Gotan; the State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mr. Igbalawole Sotiyo; the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Commander, Mr. Leye Adegboyega; and other service chiefs.

Governor Adeleke commended the Nigeria Police Force for consistently embracing professionalism, praising both the Inspector General of Police and the Osun Command for their discipline and adherence to due process. He particularly lauded Commissioner of Police Gotan for his leadership style, which he said has promoted peace and order across the state.

While appreciating the synergy among security agencies in Osun, Adeleke charged them to maintain neutrality in political activities, insisting that law enforcement must not be compromised by partisanship. “We should continue to maintain a level playing field. This is the home state of Mr. President. Mr. President belongs to all of us. Osun should not be turned into a battleground,” the Governor emphasized.

Turning to the celebrant, Adeleke expressed joy over the promotion of his ADC, describing DSP Abdulraman as an exemplary officer whose loyalty and discipline embody the values of the Nigeria Police. “I am happy today over the promotion of my ADC. He is a good representative of the police,” the Governor noted, adding that the Force remains a vital institution in Nigeria’s growth and stability.

He further highlighted the sacrifices of security operatives nationwide, remarking that the Nigeria Police remains a “blessed organisation” that deserves the appreciation of both the government and the people.

In his goodwill message, the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Gotan, congratulated DSP Abdulraman and commended his service record. He reminded the officer that promotions come with added responsibilities and urged him to remain committed to discipline, professionalism, and the highest ideals of policing.

Gotan reiterated that the Osun Command will continue to uphold fairness, human rights, and respect for the rule of law. He also assured the Governor of the command’s readiness to sustain peace and order in the state, noting that government support has been instrumental to their operations.

The police commissioner concluded by encouraging officers across the state to emulate the values of hard work and dedication displayed by Abdulraman, describing him as a role model within the Force.

Osun PDP Queries INEC’s Voter Registration Figures, Demands Transparency in Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) Exercise

Osogbo - osunpdp.com

The Osun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed deep concern over the statistics recently released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the ongoing nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR).

In a statement signed by the State Director of Media, Hezekiah Oladele Bamiji (HOB), the party questioned the wide disparity between the number of online pre-registrants and those who have completed the mandatory in-person registration exercise in Osun State.

According to INEC’s figures, over 470,000 Nigerians in Osun State have reportedly commenced their registration online within two weeks. However, less than 600 registrants were recorded to have completed the in-person process as at the time of the Commission’s report.

The Osun PDP described this as “a worrisome gap that raises serious questions about the transparency, credibility, and efficiency of the registration process.”

“It is unacceptable for INEC to continue to churn out figures without creating a verifiable and transparent process for political parties and stakeholders to monitor, so much so that the exercise is afterall, mainly to allow Nigerian citizens to participate in the electoral process and not any personal or rocket sciences.

Beyond being a mere statistical error, the deliberate under-reporting of Osun’s CVR figure raises serious questions about the credibility of INEC’s data management. How could over 25,000 duly completed registrations physically captured by INEC officials across Osun suddenly shrink to just 500 registrations in the national office’s report? Such a gaping disparity cannot be waved aside as a clerical mistake.

It is inconceivable and unacceptable that Osun, a state where daily averages of 1,500 to 2,000 voters complete their in-person registration, would be falsely presented with only 500 completed registrations for the entire reporting period. This contradiction directly insults the intelligence of the electorate and dangerously undermines confidence in the commission’s preparedness for the August 2026 governorship election as well as 2027 general election.

The PDP therefore demands that INEC immediately correct this manipulated data, publish the authentic Osun figure of 25,000+ completed registrations without delay, and explain why such a wide gulf exists between field records and the national report. Anything short of this is nothing but a calculated attempt to disenfranchise Osun citizens and lay a foundation for electoral fraud, which our party and the people will never tolerate.

"How do we reconcile nearly half a million online registrants with barely half a thousand completing their registration physically? This inconsistency must be explained with verifiable and traceable evidence,” the statement read.

The party further demanded that INEC in Osun State must:

1. Provide daily detailed reports of completed registrations, including Voter Card transfer applications received and processed by the commission across all designated centres to accredited political party representatives as well as Civil Society Organizations(CSOs)

2. Open up the registration process to independent scrutiny by stakeholders to ensure that no figures are manipulated or exaggerated for possible fraudulent motives.

3. Guarantee proper record keeping and transparency from registration through to the printing and issuance of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

The PDP warned that failure to make the process more open and accountable could erode public confidence in the Commission’s ability to conduct free, fair, and credible elections in Osun State.

The party also stressed the need for INEC to make public the source points and records of voter card transfers within or from any other part of the country to Osun State, insisting that such disclosures are essential for transparency.

According to the PDP, without a clear and open account of how voter cards are transferred from one location to another, the process remains vulnerable to manipulation and abuse.

“It is not enough for INEC to dump figures on Nigerians without giving room for authentication and verification. Our democracy demands openness, and Osun PDP will continue to insist on transparency in the voter registration process as the foundation of credible elections.” The statement concluded:

*BREAKING NEWS*

*CTC of Appeal Court Judgement Affirms Nullification of YES/NO Election, Upholds Newly Conducted Election*

Certified True Copy of the June 13, 2025 ruling by the Appeal Court has affirmed that the Court has dismissed APC's appeal and affirmed Chairmen and Councilors elected in the 2025 Local Government Election as the duly elected council officials.

The Presiding Judge, Oyebisi Folayemi Omoleye in her ruling stated that since a fresh election has been conducted and new Chairmen and Councilors have been sworn in, there is no controversy anymore.

She said, "Critically, this Court had earlier delivered judgment on 10th February 2025 in Appeal No. CA/AK/270/2022, involving basically the same parties and addressing substantially the same issues.

"The said appeal has been dismissed. What is more, the fresh Local Government elections conducted on 22nd February 2025 and the swearing-in of new Chairmen and Councillors have overtaken the substratum of this dispute.

"Relisting the appeal at this stage would serve no practical purpose.

"As settled in the case of: BAKER MARINE NIGERIA LIMITED V. CHEVRON NIGERIA LIMITED SCER (2006) S.C. 374/2001 per Achike, JSC (of blessed memory):

"See also the cases of: ADELAJA & 2 ORS. V. ALADE & ANOR. (1999) 4 SCNJ. 225 AT 245; UNION BANK V. EDIONSERI (1988) 2 NWLR (PT.74) 93 AND JULIUS BERGER (NIG.) LTD. V. FEMI (1993) 5 NWLR (PT. 295) 612.

"In sum, this application is not only procedurally incompetent and factually unsupported, it is also one rendered otiose by subsequent events. There is no longer any live controversy. The matter is, in every material sense, a fait accompli,

"I therefore also dismiss the application."

Furthermore, Justice Obiorah in his lead judgement declared that;

“Of course, the dismissal of the appeal means that there being no existing appeal against the judgment of the lower court, the said judgment stands as the authority defining the state of affairs as it regards the status of the officers of the various Local Government Councils in Osun State.

“However, the issue of violation of the orders of the lower court and the alleged contempt is the 3a Respondent/Applicant's interpretation of the action of the 3d Appellant/Respondent with respect to their treatment of the judgment of the lower court, particularly after the dismissal of their appeal by this Court on 13/1/2025.

“The said contempt is ex-facie curiae.
In INEC & ANOR v. OGUEBEGO & ORS (2017) LPELR-42609(SC) (Pp. 10-12 paras. F), the highly revered and cerebral, Chima Centus Nweze, JSC (of blessed memory) stated”.
