WHAT OPPONENTS ARE SAYING:
1. “He lacks federal power and support.”
2. “He has no state power backing him.”
3. “He is not very rich.”
4. “He is not popular.”
5. “He should wait till 2031.”
WHAT THE PEOPLE ARE SAYING:
1. “Yes, Iwaloye has no federal power nor enjoys federal support; but if democracy is truly about us, the people, then he has our support.”
2. “It is true that Iwaloye has no state government backing, but just as with the first point, the people stand solidly with him. In a democracy, the one who has the people has the majority.”
3. “Agreed, Iwaloye may not be very rich in money, but he is the richest among his co-contestants in character, capacity, and passion to serve the people. Democracy is not a contest of wealth, but of ideas; ideas that empower the people and uplift society from oppression to progress.”
4. “On popularity, this claim is untrue, except, of course, if the opponents mean popularity as defined by federal power, state backing, or money, which have already been addressed. But if popularity means being engraved in the consciousness and subconsciousness of the Osun people, then Iwaloye is the most popular. After all, who debates an unpopular man in the politics of any society? That the naysayers are discussing the 'unpopularity' of a popular man is a manifestation of a 2026 electoral postpartum in December 2025.”
5. “It is disingenuous to tell a drowning man to reject help and wait four more years before being rescued. Who does that? The opponents need the wait more than the people. As for the people of Osun, we can only ensure till 08/08/2026 otherwise, at all times, we stand with Iwaloye, and on his mandate we stand.”✌️
MY TAKE:
I W A L O Y E has gone beyond being a name for an individual in the state. It has become a movement of the people, by the people, and for the people. It now belongs to the people, even beyond Iwaloye himself. The opponents are also shareholders or owners of that name and movement.
