Osun Accord Chairman Urges Police Commissioner to Order Immediate Release of Detained Supporter Allegedly Held on Senator Fadahunsi’s Order

The Chairman of Accord Party in Osun State, Pastor Victor Akande, has called on the Osun State Commissioner of Police to immediately order the release of Mr. Owoeye Muyiwa, who has reportedly been detained at the State CID for the past three days on the alleged order of Senator Francis Fadahunsi through his police orderly.

According to reports, Mr. Muyiwa, a supporter of Governor Ademola Adeleke and a member of the Accord Party, was allegedly arrested following the mounting of Governor Adeleke’s billboard within his family house.

The party also alleged that Mr. Muyiwa’s ordeal may not be unconnected to his refusal to defect to the APC despite alleged pressures and invitations from Senator Fadahunsi.

It was further gathered that attempts were made to implicate him in the vandalisation of APC billboards. However, those brought forward to identify him reportedly stated clearly that they did not witness him vandalising any billboard, thereby exonerating him of the allegation.

Despite the absence of any credible evidence linking him to any offence, he has remained in custody, with officials at the State CID stating that only the Commissioner of Police can authorise his release.

Pastor Akande described the continued detention as an act of intimidation and harassment targeted at members and supporters of the Accord across Ijesaland.

“We respectfully call on the Commissioner of Police to ensure the immediate release of Mr. Owoeye Muyiwa without further delay. No citizen should be subjected to unlawful detention or political intimidation for expressing support for a political leader or exercising his lawful rights,” he stated.

Pastor Akande also called the attention of the Inspector General of Police, the Owa Palace, and democratic institutions and observers within and outside Nigeria to what he described as growing violations of the rights and privileges of the people of Ijesaland.

He urged security agencies to remain professional, impartial, and committed to protecting the democratic rights of all citizens regardless of political affiliation.

“Our people should not be pushed to the wall through acts of intimidation and harassment. Democracy must be protected, and the rights of citizens must be respected at all times,” the statement added.

EXPOSED: OSUN APC, OYETOLA, DIRECT OSUN REC TO REMOVE ACCORD MEMBERS FROM VOTERS REGISTER

Osun state chapter of the Accord has got. a wind of the secret meeting held by Osun chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) where its leadership caucus resolved to direct the Osun Resident Electoral Commissioner, to effect selective removal of Accord members from voters’ register.

The secret meeting was held at the Ileri Oluwa campaign office of the party on Wednesday with the nomination of a three man committee to liaise with Osun INEC office to effect the disenfranchisement plan.

Reports from the meeting revealed that the evil agenda is to remove a minimum of 75 accord members from each polling unit and 25 APC members to make the mutilation of the register random and more like a technical glitch.

The source confirmed that the meeting was told that the new Resident electoral commissioner has agreed to instruct the new head of ICT to effect the dastardly act.

The plot was reportedly billed to commence next week while the call centre of Bola Oyebamiji, not far from the state INEC office is to serve as the coordinating point.

Condemning the anti-democratic plot in the strongest possible terms, the Osun state chairman of the Accord, Pastor Victor Akande described the verified report as “an attempted coup plot against democracy and the democratic rights of Osun people.

“We will always be aware of Osun APC sinister plot to rig forthcoming polls. We condemn the Osun APC and its candidate, Mr Oyebamiji for daily plotting to sabotage the August 15 election.

“We are now using this medium to raise the alarm to all Democrats and warn that unless Osun REC wants to burn down Osun state, she should never collaborate with Mr Oyetola and Osun APC to mutilate the voters register.

“We will resist all anti- voters schemes from the people- hating Osun APC. Why is the Osun APC afraid of the people? Why is the APC scared of the rights of Osun people to vote and be voted ?

“We call on the Osun INEC office to shun any clandestine collaboration with Osun APC. Such an anti-people plot, if confirmed, constitutes a major threat to the sanctity and credibility of the forthcoming election.

“We call the attention of lovers of democracy to this budding plot to disenfranchise Osun voters. INEC is challenged to ensure a credible voters register devoid of partisan mutilation.

“Our party will not accept or condone any fascist scheme from an opposition party that is smelling defeat ahead of August 15th”, the statement noted.

The leadership and entire members of the Accord in Osun State heartily congratulate His Excellency, Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, on the joyous occasion of his 66th birthday anniversary.

This year's birthday of His Excellency is not only a celebration of age and grace, but also a moment to reflect on a life devoted to humanity, compassion, public service and total dedication to the wellbeing of the people long before destiny beckoned on him to occupy the office of Governor of Osun State.

Your Excellency sir, we are proud to celebrate you today as your journey over the years, has distinguished you as a leader whose politics is rooted in empathy, accessibility and genuine concern for the ordinary people, especially in the manner you have consistently placed the interests of the masses above personal comfort and self-glorification.

PRESS STATEMENT

OSUN ACCORD CONDEMNS KILLING OF KOLADE OLUYERA, SAYS THE PEOPLE WILL NOT SURRENDER TO VIOLENCE

The Osun State chapter of Accord has strongly condemned the gruesome murder of Kolade Oluyera, a member of the party in Ikire, Irewole Local Government, by notorious thugs linked to the All Progressive Congress (APC), warning that the APC's resort to violence will not break the people's resolve to reject it overwhelmingly at the poll.

The broad day killing of Kolade Oluyera is callous and barbaric, which has no place in a democratic setting. It is deeply concerning that the Osun APC, upon realising the futility of convincing the people to vote for it in the August 15th gubernatorial election due to its past failing, have chosen violence to scare and force itself on them.

The pattern is quite visible, and should worry every lover of democracy in Nigeria and beyond on the extent that the Osun APC is willing to go to seize power without the buying of the people. Just a few days ago, campaign billboards erected in Osogbo and other parts of Osun state to project the re-election bid of Governor Ademola Adeleke were vandalised.

This is desperation at play, and it is important that the whole world is alerted to the reign of terror that Osun APC is visiting on the people in a bid to force itself on them. As a party, we believe every life is sacred and no one's ambition is worth the life of citizens, and those who choose to kill fellow human being for the purpose of attaining political office has lost every iota of humanity and should be rejected by all.

While it is quite certain that the Osun APC is pursuing a bloodletting agenda following the reality of its rejection by the people, we maintain that we will explore every lawful means to protect not just our members but the good of Osun state from falling victims of the murderous party.

In that regard, we want to enjoin security agencies to be alive to their responsibility and protect citizens in line with their constitutional role. We equally call on the security agencies to go after the known perpetrators of the killing of Kolade Oluyera and make them justice without delay, no matter how powerful their backers are.

We must note that the killing of Kolade Oluyera is not a coincidence, especially given the fact that he is likely to be the Accord polling unit agent in ATILE unit where the APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, is a voter, as he had served as PDP in the same unit in the past and uncompromising. Mandate for political office should come from the people, not by spilling their bloods to march on to the seat of power.

As a party, we express our condolences to the family of Kolade Oluyera, particularly his aged mother, and we want to assure them that we will take every necessary steps, including involving global human rights body, to ensure that those who killed Kolade Oluyera are held to account and justice is served. We want to also warn that those who believe they have to kill to gain power should know that there will always be a time of reckoning, not only on this planet, but in the great beyond.

Accord Is not Deregistered, Ignore Fake News - Osun Accord

The Accord in Osun state has debunked reports making rounds in some circles that the Accord is deregistered, calling it “silly fake news”

In a statement issued today at Osogbo, the party described the report as unfounded as the party fulfilled all legal requirements to operate as a political party.

The Accord stated that the suit filed by the Attorney General of the Federation is part of an orchestrated failed plot to disrupt August 15th election in Osun state.

“The suit will fail as it has no legal basis and especially as the Accord has won several elections across many states of Nigeria.

“We urge the public and Osun residents to remain calm. The Accord remains a legally recognized political party on which platform Governor Ademola Adeleke will be re-elected by God and the people”, the statement noted.

APC’s Fictional Narrative Collapses Under Weight of Its Own Contradictions — Accord Unshaken, Focused, and Marching Forward

The attention of the Osun State chapter of the Accord has been drawn to yet another futile, incoherent, and utterly laughable press statement credited to one Mogaji Kola Olabisi of the Osun APC.

Ordinarily, such a concoction of empty jargons and recycled falsehoods would not deserve a response. However, for the sake of setting the records straight and protecting the integrity of public discourse, we are compelled to respond.

The statement in question is nothing but the predictable ranting of a rejected political camp, elements whose antecedents in Osun State politics are synonymous with misgovernance, impunity, and a tragic legacy that the people of the state are still recovering from.

Let it be stated clearly: the APC in Osun State lacks both the moral standing and intellectual depth to interrogate governance under His Excellency, Ademola Adeleke.
What the APC has presented is not a critique, it is a confused compilation of conjectures, driven by panic and sustained by desperation.

In sharp contrast to the schoolboy impression the opposition is trying to sell, the reality on ground tells a completely different story. The Accord campaign structure, comprising seasoned political leaders, respected professionals across various sectors, and religious figures of impeccable character, has, within just days of inauguration, demonstrated a level of coordination and grassroots pe*******on that has clearly unsettled the ragtag APC camp.

It is evident that the growing momentum behind Governor Adeleke’s re-election has thrown the opposition into disarray. Their inability to articulate a coherent manifesto to the good people of Osun State has forced them into the familiar territory of innuendos, baseless allegations, and senseless propaganda.

We make bold to say: an opposition that cannot sell ideas will always resort to selling fear.
The APC should, as a matter of urgency, come clean before the people of Osun State. They owe the citizens an unreserved apology for their dark years in government, years marked by hardship, repression, and avoidable loss of lives. Before aspiring to return to power, they must first queue on the long line of restitution and seek forgiveness from a people they once betrayed.

Furthermore, we find it rather curious that the APC continues to dance around leadership questions within its fold. If indeed they are confident, why not present Gboyega Oyetola, their self-imposed leader, to spearhead their campaign? He should muster the courage to face the same electorate that rejected him overwhelmingly in 2022 and account for his stewardship, instead of hiding behind surrogates and hollow press statements.

The Accord in Osun State remains resolute and undistracted. We have absolute confidence in the calibre of individuals leading our campaign and in the overwhelming support of the good people of Osun State who continue to witness, firsthand, the dividends of purposeful governance.

As for the APC, their internal implosion, driven by a dearth of credible leadership and populated by individuals with questionable reputations, is already stalling whatever remains of their campaign. Osun people are wiser. They remember. And they will not be deceived.

The Osun state chapter of Accord has lampooned the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the unconscionable justification of the unlawful hijacking of local governments in the state, noting that Osun people are well aware of the dangerous antics of the APC and will definitely punish it at the poll.

It is a public knowledge that the Osun APC’s claim to the council is not rooted in any legal basis but the deliberate manipulation of federal institutions and criminal collusion with the United Bank of Africa (UBA) to deny the people the benefit of public fund.

Contrary to the farce of reinstatement, the Court of Appeal in two decisions given on January 13 and June 13, 2025 effectively sealed the fate of the YES or NO officials, and whatever the APC maybe doing is unlawful, which the law will definitely catch up with them at a point.

We emphasised that any access of local governments fund by the court-sacked APC officials is a theft of public fund and already, legal steps has already commenced in the court to bring the compromised UBA officials who aided the stealing of public fund to account.

The attempt by the APC to deflate attentions from its illegality and crude abuse of public fund is watery and unreasonable. Badly graded roads and motorcycles, which we see as a bribe to security agencies, most especially the Nigerian Police, for aiding its illegality, is an embarrassing insult to the intelligence of Osun people.

Contrary to the impression that the Osun APC try to sell, we have it on good authority that the so called grant presided over by the YES or NO officials is actually not LG funds, but RENEWED HOPE, which is a special fund set aside from the federation account for the purpose of every Nigerians and not a political tool. This clearly implies that the APC has a lot of explanations to make on how it used the over N300 billion that accrued to the local governments since the illegal hijack of the money.

The refusal to pay primary school teachers, healthcare workers, local governments workers and others their due entitlement from the hijacked fund is a brazen assault of the rights of workers to earn living and further highlights the Osun APC's anti-workers tendency. If the Osun APC excuse is that documents are kept away from it, where did it get the document it is using to divert public funds to private pockets and bribing security agents for the purpose of election.

By law, public funds spent outside appropriation is a breach of the law, especially given the provisions of Section 7 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended). Therefore, we maintain that every kobo of public fund so far accessed by the Osun APC is unlawful, and lawful means to recover what belong to the people but was misappropriated is already in play.

Osun people, most especially local workers and those at the grassroot, who the APC is oppressing for no reason other than political, will punish them severely with their votes on August 15, 2026. While Osun APC may think it can break the resolve of the people through economic strangulation. We want to assure them that they have failed as the people are more than determined to stick with a government that has delivered for them.

Osun Accord Petitions Police Over Alleged Threats in Viral Video by Rep. Wole Oke

Osun State chapter of the Accord has petitioned the police over what it described as threatening and inflammatory statements allegedly made in a viral video by Wole Oke, a member of the House of Representatives representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency.

In the petition addressed to the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone XI Headquarters in Osogbo and copied the Inspector General of Police, the party demanded an immediate investigation and possible prosecution over the statements credited to the lawmaker.

The petition, written by ASA Attorneys on behalf of the state chairman of the Accord Party, described the remarks attributed to the federal lawmaker as “menacing, inflammatory and capable of inciting violence.”

Hon. Oke, who also serves as Director-General of the Osun APC Governorship Campaign, was alleged to have warned in the video that individuals who do not politically align with where Bola Ahmed Tinubu belongs should be ready to “face dire consequences.”

According to the petitioners, the alleged statement amounts to a direct threat to the lives, safety and civil liberties of citizens in Osun State, particularly members and supporters of opposition political parties.

The party argued that such comments could fuel political tension and undermine the democratic rights of citizens to freely associate and participate in political activities as guaranteed under the 1999 Constitution.

It further noted that the alleged remarks have already generated fear and anxiety among members and supporters of the party as well as other residents of the state.

The petition urged the police to immediately commence a thorough and transparent investigation into the viral video and the statements attributed to the lawmaker.

Specifically, the party called for the invitation and interrogation of the lawmaker, and the institution of appropriate criminal proceedings if investigations establish a prima facie case of intimidation or conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.

The Accord also called for increased security presence across Osun State to ensure that political actors and citizens can freely exercise their constitutional rights without fear of harassment or violence.

The party maintained that the petition was necessary to protect democratic values and prevent any form of political intimidation in the state.

The petition was also copied to the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Inspector-General of Police in Abuja.

APC Scrapes the Barrel, Picks ‘Wayo Politics’ As Campaign Strategy -
Osun Accord Mocks Desperate Apc Gamble

The Osun State Chairman of the ruling Accord, Pastor Victor Babalola Akande, has lampooned the opposition All Progressives Congress over its curious decision to appoint Mr Wole Oke as Director General of its campaign council, describing the move as “a tragic comedy that exposes the party’s complete collapse of credibility.”

Pastor Akande said the APC, having run out of respectable faces, has now resorted to what he termed “a symbol of crass ineptitude and controversy” to sell what is already a rejected political product to the people of Osun State.

“It is both laughable and disgraceful that a party seeking the trust of the people would anchor its campaign on an individual persistently trailed by allegations of fraud, abuse of office, breach of trust and financial impropriety across MDAs and public institutions, as evidenced by several undenied publications by credible news platforms in the country ” Akande stated.

He noted that rather than rebuild its battered image, the APC has chosen to deepen public distrust by elevating a figure whose record in public service has been a subject of sustained scrutiny and damaging reports in the public space.

“What the APC has done is to officially adopt fraud and controversy as its campaign ideology. When a party proudly hands over its campaign to a man many perceive as synonymous with questionable dealings and alleged phantom empowerment schemes, it tells you everything you need to know about their readiness for governance,” he added.

"It is on record that very recently, several former aides of Hon Wole Oke publicly accused him of many unethical and potentially criminal conduct including forgery of their signatures on security documents and incorporating companies through proxies to defraud his innocent constituents"

While it is understood that the APC in Osun is faced with a dearth of quality manpower, one would have expected that the party would be more cautious in entrusting the task of selling a hard candidate to a poor marketer in the person of Mr Oke.

Thats not all, a viral publication of Premium Times of September 5, 2023, had exposed Wole Oke and his chain of corruption at the lower chambers of the national assembly, with damning revelations of how he did deploy a staff of His Lead British International School, one Ms Adoga as a conduit for illicit transactions

Parts of the excract from the publication in the Premium Times are hereby reproduced with the news link also provided for a more robust reading and understanding of the fraud Apc has found worthy of anchoring its campaign:

The Premium Times Account

"We had in our initial report indicated that all heads of federal tertiary institutions were asked to deposit N2 million naira bribe each into an account domiciled in Providus Bank. But it has since become clear that only university vice-chancellors were given that bank account. Rectors and provosts were smarter – they were able to pay N3 million naira each to the committee using different methodologies that made the illicit payments harder to trace.

"Back to LBIS. So, who owns the school, and what is its relationship with the bribery scheme? Founded on 24 January 2008, LBIS is 75 per cent owned by Oluwole Oke, a member of the House of Representatives representing the Obokun/Oriade federal constituency of Osun State, who moved the motion that led to the creation of the investigative committee and who became very active at the panel’s public hearings"

"Mr Ishaya and Ms Adoga soon began to communicate by telephone. Ms Adoga then contacted Mr Sambo of Ama Business Solution, requesting him to ready an account into which some naira payments could be made for conversion to dollars. She did not tell the businessman who would make the payments and how much would be paid. She only told Mr Sambo to ready the account number and await a call...."

Nigerians, particularly the good people of Osun State should note that allegations contained in the investigative report against Wole Oke, has not been been controverted by way of dragging Premium Times to court till this moment.

The Accord Chairman further mocked the opposition for what he described as a “self-inflicted political disaster,” stressing that no amount of noise-making or propaganda can make such a choice appealing to the discerning electorate of Osun State.
“Osun voters are not gullible. They should not be taken for Apc populated scallywags either. You cannot package what people already know and expect them to forget. This is not just poor judgment, it is a clear sign that the APC has exhausted both ideas and integrity,” he said.

Pastor Akande emphasized that while the APC continues to recycle congenital fraudsters, the people of Osun remain firmly aligned with tested leadership, visible performance, and people-oriented governance exemplified by His Excellency, Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke.

“This latest move by the APC is not just a frsutration induced error, it is a confession. A confession that they have nothing new to offer, nothing credible to present, and no better faces to put forward than a discredited charlatan like Wole Oke” he concluded.
