Nationwide MindTheGap Inter-Platoon Debate Competition 2026 Concludes with Outstanding Performances at NYSC Camps Nationwide.
The Nationwide MindTheGap Inter-Platoon Debate Competition 2026 successfully held across NYSC camps nationwide on Saturday, 9th May 2026, at 10:00 a.m., bringing together corps members from different platoons to engage in insightful conversations on Artificial Intelligence and digital transformation.
The debate topic, “Why NYSC is the Most Strategic Platform to Accelerate Inclusive AI Literacy and Competences,” challenged participants to explore the role of the NYSC scheme in promoting AI literacy, digital inclusion, innovation, and national development among Nigerian youths.
At the Ede Camp, Osun State, participating platoons delivered exceptional performances, showcasing critical thinking, creativity, confidence, and a strong understanding of AI-driven solutions in today’s digital world. After a highly competitive session, Platoon 1 emerged as the overall winner, followed by Platoon 6 in second place, while Platoon 3 secured third place. Winners were presented with cash prizes and certificates in recognition of their outstanding performances.
The event also featured an orientation on the DL4All/MindTheGap initiative, led by Mr. Oluwaferanmi Adeleye, Regional Community Manager, alongside other NITDA DL4ALL officials, including Mrs. A. A. Aguda, Mr. Abdulwaheed Olaniyi, Mrs Kikelomo and Mr. ThankGod O.
The DL4All initiative aims to bridge Nigeria's digital divide by training citizens in foundational digital literacy skills, promoting a digitally literate nation where everyone can access opportunities and contribute to development.
