The Inter-Platoon Debate was a remarkable display of confidence, intelligence, teamwork and leadership as corps members explored the theme:

“Understanding the Service in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC): A Call to Leadership.”

After a keenly contested debate, the results were:

1st Place — Platoon 1
2nd Place — Platoon 3
3rd Place — Platoon 2

We caught up with the champions from Platoon 1 -3 to hear the story behind their success — their preparation, experience on the debate stage, thoughts on service and leadership, and what it feels like to emerge as the winning platoon.

Their achievement goes beyond winning a debate. It reflects the confidence, teamwork and leadership qualities that the NYSC experience seeks to build in young Nigerians.

Service is not just about wearing the NYSC khaki; it is about understanding our responsibility to the nation and being willing to make a positive impact wherever we are posted.
Through the Inter-Platoon Debate, our corps members will share ideas, challenge perspectives and explore the meaning of leadership, sacrifice, responsibility, patriotism and service to humanity.
This debate is more than a competition. It is an opportunity to inspire young Nigerians to see the NYSC scheme as a platform for personal growth, community development and nation building.

It is an opportunity for young Nigerian graduates to serve their country, interact with people from different backgrounds, develop leadership qualities, and contribute meaningfully to national development.
