Digital Safety CDS Sensitization Outreach Report
On Thursday, 30th April 2026, at 9:00 a.m., the Ede North Digital Literacy for All CDS Group, Osun State, conducted a Digital Safety Sensitization Outreach at Oja Timi Market, Ede, in Ede North Local Government Area.
The outreach targeted traders, focusing on protecting them from digital fraud and cybercrime. Key messages included avoiding the sharing of sensitive information such as OTP, NIN, and BVN, verifying payments through mobile banking apps instead of SMS alerts, and being cautious of suspicious calls and fraudulent WhatsApp links.
Members of the CDS group were deployed in pairs to ensure wider coverage and effective engagement across the market.
The sensitization was successful, as traders gained better awareness of digital safety practices and the appropriate steps to take in case of fraud, including contacting their bank’s customer care.
