IMSHIA HOLDS ONE-DAY STRATEGIC MEETING WITH HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS DESK OFFICERS TO ENHANCE SERVICE DELIVERY UNDER IMO CARE
The Imo State Health Insurance Agency (IMSHIA) on Friday, August 28, 2026, convened a One-Day Strategic Meeting with all Healthcare Providers Desk Officers from accredited facilities across Imo State.
The meeting was held at the IMSHIA Boardroom, Owerri and was presided over by the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Donald Osita Eneh.
The engagement was aimed at strengthening collaboration between IMSHIA and its healthcare providers, addressing operational challenges, and improving the overall experience of IMSHIA enrollees at facility level.
During his speech, Dr. Eneh charged Desk Officers to be the "face of ImoCare" in their facilities while emphasizing on prompt attention to enrollees, respect, and zero tolerance for out-of-pocket payments for services covered under the ImoCare benefit package.
He reviewed the claims submission process and reaffirmed a 30-day turnaround for verified claims as he briefed desk officers on proper documentation, coding, and timely upload of patient data to avoid delays and claim denials.
Furthermore, a direct escalation channel between Desk Officers and the IMSHIA Call Center was reinforced, as desk officers are to resolve minor complaints within 24 hours and escalate complex cases immediately to ensure patient satisfaction.
Dr Eneh announced intensified supportive supervision visits and quarterly performance reviews for all providers, noting that facilities with excellent service delivery will be recognized, while non-compliant facilities will face sanctions in line with the provider agreement.
