The Imo State Ministry of Health joins the host of other Ministries, Departments and Agencies of the Imo State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, Executive Governor of Imo State, to celebrate Nigeria’s Independence Day at RANKS.

As we mark this significant milestone, our medical and healthcare teams reaffirm their commitment to serving the people with compassion, professionalism and dedication.

A New Chapter in Saving Lives in Imo State 🚑❤️

Today, Imo State officially onboarded Community Emergency Maternal and Transport Team Operators (CEMTTOs) and Emergency Transport Operators (ETOs) under the RESMAT Programme; strengthening our emergency referral and maternal transportation system.

From taking the oath of commitment to the official flag-off and symbolic commissioning of RESMAT emergency transport, the message was clear: every minute matters when a mother or newborn is in danger.

Together, we are building a faster, safer and more coordinated referral system to improve maternal and newborn survival across Imo State.

RESMAT: Responding on time. Transporting safely. Saving lives. 🚑

Imo State joined the world to commemorate World Patient Safety Day 2026, themed “Safe Care for Non-communicable Diseases.”

The conversation focused on making NCD care safer from diagnosis to lifelong care through early presentation, appropriate referral, stronger coordination, and action against medical quackery.

Safe systems. Skilled professionals. Informed patients. Coordinated care.

Because every patient deserves safe care for life. ❤️

SAFE CARE FOR LIFE! 🏥❤️

Imo State joined the world in commemorating World Patient Safety Day 2026, themed “Safe Care for Non-communicable Diseases,” with a high-level conversation on moving patients “From Diagnosis to Lifelong Care: Making NCD Care Safer for Every Patient.”

The event brought together health professionals, partners, agencies, the media and stakeholders to confront some of the barriers that undermine patient safety and quality of care.

Bold commitments were made to translate discussion into pragmatic action - reducing medical quackery, promoting early presentation and appropriate referral, and strengthening coordination to address fragmented care.

Patient safety must move beyond policies and conversations into everyday practice: the right care, by the right professional, at the right time, and through a coordinated continuum of care.

The commitment is clear: safer systems, stronger health professionals, informed patients and coordinated care - because every patient deserves safe care for life. ❤️
