Nigeria Connects Representatives Visit FUOYE Library

The FUOYE Library, on 20th August 2026, welcomed representatives of Nigeria Connects, Mrs. Adegoke T. and Mr. Samuel, to assess books previously donated to the Library.

The representatives were received by the University Librarian, Dr. Olabode Olajide and Library staff. The visit provided an opportunity to discuss further support through books, computers, and other relevant educational resources.

The representatives also met with the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole, appreciated Nigeria Connects for its kind gesture and expressed his willingness to support further collaboration and partnership.

The FUOYE Library looks forward to strengthening this relationship in support of teaching, learning, and research.

The Federal University Oye Ekiti, Ekiti State Nigeria (FUOYE) Library received commendable feedback from the Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) Accreditation Team following their assessment of the Library's print and electronic resources on 13th August 2026.

After accessing the Library's e-resources, the team remarked:

“Library is the FUOYE selling point. No wonder they’re shouting, ‘Let’s go to Library.’”

This recognition is a testament to the Library's commitment to providing quality information resources and services that support teaching, learning, research, and academic excellence across the University.

Under the leadership of the University Librarian, Dr. Olabode Olajide Fasheki, the FUOYE Library continues to strengthen its services and position itself as a vital hub for knowledge, research, and innovation.

FUOYE LIBRARY STAFF PAYS FINAL RESPECT TO PROFESSOR GB0YEGA ADIO

The Federal University Oye Ekiti, Ekiti State Nigeria (FUOYE) Library Staff, under the leadership of the University Librarian, Dr. Olabode Olajide Fasheki , joined family members, friends, colleagues, and well-wishers to pay final respect to Professor Gboyega Adio, former University Librarian, at his burial ceremony held on Friday, 24th July 2026, in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

The presence of library staff at the ceremony reflected deep appreciation for Professor Adio's invaluable contributions to the growth of the University Library and the library profession. His legacy of dedicated service, academic excellence, and commitment to scholarship will continue to inspire librarians and the wider academic community.

The Federal University Oye-Ekiti Library Staff extends its heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones, praying that Almighty God grants him eternal rest and gives all who mourn him the strength and comfort to bear the loss.

May the soul of Professor Gboyega Adio rest in perfect peace.

FUOYE LIBRARY REPRESENTED AT THE GRAND FINALE OF THE ONE-DAY VICE-CHANCELLOR INITIATIVE 2.0

The University Librarian, Dr Olabode Olajide alongside other principal officers of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), attended the Grand Finale of the FUOYE One-Day Vice-Chancellor Initiative 2.0, held on Saturday, 4th July 2026, at the Senate Chamber.

The event brought together members of the University community to celebrate excellence, leadership, innovation, and academic distinction among students. During the ceremony, the University Librarian Dr Olabode Olajide Fasheki participated in the presentation of certificates to participants, demonstrating the Library's continued support for initiatives that foster leadership and academic excellence within the University.

The FUOYE Library congratulates Adeeyo Mahmud, a 400-Level student of Political Science in the Faculty of Social Sciences, on emerging as the winner of the FUOYE One-Day Vice-Chancellor Initiative 2.0. We wish him a successful and impactful tenure as the University's One-Day Vice-Chancellor.

The FUOYE Library also commends all participants for their dedication, resilience, and outstanding performances throughout the competition.

A MOMENT OF SILENCE IN HONOUR OF PROFESSOR ADIO GBOYEGA

On 1st July 2026, staff of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) Library observed a minute of silence at the University Central Library in honour of Professor Adio Gboyega, former University Librarian (2015–2020), who passed away on 23rd June 2026.

The solemn tribute reflected the Library's profound respect and appreciation for Professor Gboyega's dedicated service, visionary leadership, and invaluable contributions to the growth and development of the University Library. Staff members stood in quiet reflection, remembering his enduring legacy and the impact of his years of service.

May the Almighty grant Professor Adio Gboyega eternal rest and comfort his family, loved ones, and the entire FUOYE community.
