There will be personnel who will call their buddies and beg for a seat for themselves or their families to be on that flight, just to avoid the stress of travelling by road or paying exorbitant ticket fares, only to end up dead in a dark, desolate place.

Remembering our Fallen Pilots.

Squadron Leader Bello Mohammed Baba-Ari succumbed to internal injuries after ejecting from an F-7Ni fighter jet following a mid-air collision on September 28, 2018.

An Alpha Jet flown by Group Captain Abdulrasheed Bamidele Braimoh and Wing Commander Chimda Hedima went down near Kauri, in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State, on September 12, 2014, while conducting a combat mission against Boko Haram terrorists.

Wing Commander Hedima was captured by the insurgents and later killed.

The fate of Group Captain Braimoh remains unresolved. His remains were never recovered, and he was subsequently declared Killed in Action in accordance with Armed Forces of Nigeria regulations.

These outstanding warriors had a few things in common: love of country, passion for flying, and knowing they were fighting for a cause greater than themselves.
