CORPS MEMBERS JUBILATE IN ECSTATIC FRENZY AS 'FANTASTIC' FUBARA RESTARTS PAYMENT OF MONTHLY STATE ALLOWANCE TO THEM

The mood of Corps Members serving in Rivers State is that of overwhelming joy and ecstatic frenzy at the moment

This is a result of State Allowance hitting their accounts following the approval of the payment by the Governor, 'fantastic' Fubara with effect from December 2023.

In the payment schedule obtained, Corps Members serving in public establishments especially government owned schools each received alert of #15000.00 only while those in private establishments received alert of #10000.00 naira only.

This development comes in the heels of months intense engagements, negotiations, correspondences, lobby, persuasions and subtle pressure mounted on the State Government by the go-getter, never-say-never State Coordinator of NYSC Rivers State, Mr. George Mfongang.

It will be recalled that following the removal of subsidy by the Federal Government, prices of goods and services skyrocketed leaving the monthly federal allowance of #33000.00 too meagre to meet Corps Members basic needs.

It was in the light of the above that Mr. Mfongang became relentless in his advocacy for the State Government to intervene and cushion the effects of the harsh economic realities on Corps Members, especially as it relates to buying of food items and proper feeding.

Mr. Mfongang, an administrator with the knack and penchant for breaking barriers of achievements, have recorded milestones since his assumption of duty as the 29th State Coordinator of NYSC Rivers State.

Some of his milestone achievements include but not limited to; inauguration of the 5000 capacity Chief (Barr.) Nyesom Ezenwo Wike auditorium at the camp during his watch, delivery of over 30 laptops to the Scheme from various stakeholders, attraction of two 250KVA generators to the camp, refurbishing and rehabilitation of the State secretariat, establishment of a games village in the camp, establishment of Man o War village in the camp, redesign and remodeling of the camp market, sponsorship of customized official uniform for staff during official outings amongst others.

Indeed, to God be the glory!
