PART 3 — THE PLACE I ALMOST REJECTED BECAME THE PLACE THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING 🥹❤️🧵
If you've been following this story from Part 1, thank you. ❤️
So after all the waka from one fashion store to another, the place that was left was the same place my mum had initially found at Ugbeyiyi.
Julieezscissors Fashion Academy.
The place I had rejected. 😂
But somehow, I went there.
I started on August 11th.
And from the moment my madam spoke to me, I knew:
“Yes. This is what I needed.”
She taught me.
She explained things properly.
She corrected me.
She made sure I understood what I was doing.
And honestly, I loved the way she taught.
Everything started coming together.
I was teaching and coming to fashion school.
I was learning.
Practising.
Making mistakes.
Correcting them.
Trying again.
And getting better.
There were times I would look at what I had made and be like:
“Omo! Na me sew this thing?” 😭😂❤️
Because if you knew where I was coming from, you would understand why that feeling meant so much to me.
Remember that little girl in Lagos?
The one that used blades to cut fabrics for dolls?
The one that sometimes cut her underwear because she wanted to use the fabric for her toys? 😂
The one that started learning fashion but got tired?
The one that stopped going regularly?
The one that started spoiling fabrics?
The one that eventually moved to Sapele and started learning again through YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok?
That same girl is now a CERTIFIED FASHION DESIGNER. 🥹🎓👗
Today, I can finally say it with my full chest:
I DID IT. ❤️
This certificate is not just a certificate to me.
It carries years of trying.
Years of stopping and starting.
Years of learning.
Years of doubting myself.
Years of God's grace.
It carries the sacrifices my mum made.
It carries the support from my siblings.
It carries what Aunty Seun taught me many years ago.
It carries the patience and teaching I received at Julieezscissors Fashion Academy.
And most importantly, it reminds me that God can put something inside a child that may take years before the world finally sees it.
I am grateful to God Almighty.
I am grateful to my mum.
Mummy, thank you for seeing something in me even when I didn't understand myself. ❤️
I am grateful to my siblings for contributing to get me my sewing machine.
I am grateful to Aunty Seun Oluwaseun for the foundation.
Aunty Seun, thank you. ❤️
And I am grateful to my madam at Julieezscissors Fashion Academy for helping me become better at what I already loved.
From a little girl playing with fabrics…
To an apprentice who almost gave up…
To a girl learning from social media…
To a fashion student…
To finally becoming a CERTIFIED FASHION DESIGNER. 🥹🧵👗🎓
Looking back now, I realise something:
Sometimes, the place you reject may be the place God has prepared for you.
I almost rejected Julieezscissors. Juliet Tochukwu Ezeh
But today, I am grateful I didn't.
And this is just the beginning.
Meet Nwanze Marvellous — CERTIFIED FASHION DESIGNER. 👗🎓❤️
The little girl who used to design clothes for dolls is finally designing for real people. 😭😂❤️
To God be all the glory. 🙏🏽✨
