DAFINONE MOURNS CHIEF MIKE ADIOTOMRE, DESCRIBES HIM AS ELDER STATESMAN, ASTUTE POLITICIAN
I received with deep sadness the news of the passing of Chief Mike Adiotomre, a distinguished elder statesman and respected political leader from Ovu-Inland in Ethiope East Local Government Area, who passed on at the age of 88. His death is a profound loss to his family, the people of Ovu, Ethiope East, Delta Central and the entire Urhobo Nation.
Chief Adiotomre had a distinguished career in the old Bendel State and Delta State, including serving as Secretary of the defunct Bendel State Hospitals Management Board. In the various responsibilities entrusted to him, he demonstrated diligence, integrity and a deep commitment to the development and wellbeing of his people.
He was also an astute politician, bridge-builder and father figure whose experience and wise counsel were valued by generations of political leaders. A strong believer in dialogue and reconciliation, he earned respect across political divides and brought his wisdom and moderation to bear as a member of the Delta State Advisory and Peace Building Council.
On behalf of my family and the good people of Delta Central Senatorial District, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the Adiotomre family, the people of Ovu-Inland and Ethiope East Local Government Area, as well as the entire Urhobo Nation. We take consolation in the fact that he lived a long and impactful life, leaving behind a legacy of wisdom, leadership and commitment to his people.
I pray that Almighty God grants the soul of Chief Mike Adiotomre eternal rest and gives his family, associates and all who mourn him the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. Urhobo Nation has lost a respected elder and statesman whose contributions to our collective progress and peaceful coexistence will be remembered for generations.
