Dafinone Celebrates Shettima at 60, Hails His Service to Nigeria

I warmly felicitate with His Excellency, Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON, Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, on the occasion of his 60th birthday. On behalf of my family, the people of Delta Central Senatorial District, I join his family, colleagues and Nigerians across the country in celebrating this significant milestone and honouring a life marked by distinguished public service, leadership and an enduring commitment to the unity and progress of our nation.

Vice President Shettima’s journey from the banking profession to the highest levels of public service, including his tenure as Governor of Borno State, his service as Senator representing Borno Central and his present responsibility as Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, speaks to a life of service and responsibility. His years in public office, particularly his stewardship of Borno State during a period of profound security and socio-economic challenges, have demonstrated courage, resilience and a willingness to serve the nation in difficult times. These are qualities that deserve recognition as he attains this important milestone.

As he marks his 60th birthday, I commend the Vice President for the wisdom, experience and commitment he continues to bring to the service of our country and for his important role in advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. At a time when Nigeria requires leadership that is purposeful, inclusive and anchored in the national interest, I am confident that Vice President Shettima’s experience in governance, public administration and economic affairs will continue to contribute meaningfully to our collective efforts to strengthen the economy, deepen national unity and promote sustainable development.

I join Nigerians, his family, friends and associates in wishing His Excellency many more years of good health, wisdom and fulfilment in the service of our nation. May Almighty God continue to guide and protect him, grant him strength and sound judgment in the discharge of his responsibilities, and bless him with many more years in which to contribute to the peace, unity and prosperity of Nigeria. Today, I visited the Director-General of WUEDA, former Chairman of Okpe Local Government and Duke of Okpe Kingdom, Okakuro Prince Godwin Ejinyere, at his residence in Orerokpe, where I met with him and his supporters. We discussed party unity, grassroots mobilisation and the collective effort required to secure victory for the APC in 2027.

I reaffirmed my commitment to serving, empowering and remaining accessible to our people. Okakuro Ejinyere expressed his support and urged his supporters to stand with me as one of their own, as we work together for the success of our party.

Earlier today, I engaged the leadership of the APC LGA and Ward Executives of Ethiope East in a strategic meeting in Isiokolo.

We discussed measures for effective grassroots mobilisation and how best to strengthen our collective efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Today, I joined the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori, his family, friends and other distinguished guests at the wedding ceremony of his beloved son, Innocent Oborevwori, and his beautiful bride, Tobore Arigbodi, at Living Faith Church, Winners’ Chapel, Asaba.

I wish the happy couple a lifetime of love, peace, and happiness. May their home be filled with God’s blessings, joy, and beautiful memories in the years ahead.

Today, I joined representatives of the Delta State Government, the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), and other relevant stakeholders at Amukpe Roundabout, Sapele, for the flag-off of the emergency intervention and rehabilitation of failed sections of the Benin–Sapele Expressway.

This intervention is a welcome and timely development that will ease the difficulties faced by motorists, commuters, businesses and communities along this critical corridor.

I commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the Niger Delta Development Commission for the prompt response to the cries of our people, and for taking decisive steps to restore this vital road.

I look forward to the timely completion of the rehabilitation and, most importantly, to the relief and improved connectivity it will bring to our people.
