JARO EGBO THANKS GOVERNOR OBOREVWORI FOR APPROVAL OF KEY ROAD RECONSTRUCTION PROJECTS

The Executive Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Council, Olorogun Jaro Movudu Egbo, KSC, has expressed appreciation to the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff F.O Oborevwori, for approving the reconstruction and rehabilitation of major roads in the council area.

In a statement issued through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Efe Ekete, the Chairman described Governor Oborevwori as a listening and responsive leader whose administration has demonstrated commitment to improving infrastructure and the welfare of Deltans.

Olorogun Jaro Egbo particularly commended the approval for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of Afiiesere Road, Oveto, Uduophori Road and Oviri-Ogor Road, noting that the projects will improve connectivity, ease transportation and enhance economic activities across several communities in Ughelli North.

He also acknowledged the Governor’s previous interventions in the council, including the Ughelli Flyover and other critical road projects, describing them as significant contributions to the infrastructural development of the area.

“Our amiable Governor has once again shown that he hears the cries of his people,” the Chairman said. “The people of Ughelli North are truly grateful for all that Your Excellency has done and continues to do for us.”

He added that the newly approved projects would provide better access for residents, traders and farmers while creating opportunities for increased commercial activities across the benefiting communities.

The Chairman expressed optimism that the visible impact of the Governor’s development initiatives would further strengthen public confidence in his administration and support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 elections.

On behalf of his family, the council and the people of Ughelli North, Olorogun Jaro Egbo thanked Governor Oborevwori for the approvals and prayed for continued wisdom and strength for him in the service of Delta State.

He also reaffirmed the council’s cooperation with the state government in advancing projects and policies that improve the lives of residents.

UGHELLI NORTH COUNCIL DISMISSES ASSAULT ALLEGATIONS AGAINST CHAIRMAN JARO EGBO AS MALICIOUS AND ENTIRELY FABRICATED

The attention of the Ughelli North Local Government Council has been drawn to a deeply mischievous and malicious report falsely alleging that the Executive Chairman, Olorogun Jaro Movudu Egbo, KSC, ordered or was in any way responsible for the alleged assault on Mr. Edewor Akpedafe of Uwheru Community.

The Council wishes to state clearly, categorically, and without equivocation that the allegation is false, baseless, and a deliberate attempt to tarnish the reputation of a leader who has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to peace, security, stability, and the rule of law across Ughelli North Local Government Area.

THE FACTS ARE CLEAR

First, Olorogun Jaro Egbo was not present at the location when the altercation occurred. He neither witnessed the incident nor ordered, participated in, or directed any assault. It is therefore completely misleading and unjustifiable to attribute responsibility for the incident to him.

Second, available facts indicate that Mr. Edewor Akpedafe was confronted by some of his kinsmen following allegations that he was impersonating the President General of Uwheru Community — a position legitimately held by Chief MacPherson Egbedi, who was also present at the scene.

Third, and most importantly, the Council Chairman was contacted only after the incident, strictly in his capacity as the Chief Security Officer of the Local Government Area. Upon receiving the distress call, Olorogun Egbo responded promptly and intervened to help restore calm and order at the residence of Chief Miller Uloho, Chairman of the Ughelli North Advisory Committee.

His intervention was therefore one of responsible leadership and peace-building, not aggression or incitement.

A PATTERN OF MISCHIEF

It is deeply instructive that those behind this sponsored falsehood have chosen to twist an act of responsible intervention into a criminal allegation.

A Chairman who responded to a security distress call and moved swiftly to restore peace is now being portrayed as the person responsible for the crisis he was called upon to resolve. Such an allegation is not only illogical but represents a deliberate distortion of facts calculated to mislead the public and undermine a performing administration.

The Council is not unaware that certain disgruntled individuals, apparently threatened by the visible achievements and growing goodwill of the Jaro Egbo administration, have resorted to fabricating stories and peddling falsehoods in the court of public opinion.

This latest allegation is another such desperate attempt, and it will fail.

OUR POSITION

The Ughelli North Local Government Council wishes to place the following firmly on record:

1. Olorogun Jaro Movudu Egbo did not order, supervise, participate in, or condone any assault on Mr. Edewor Akpedafe or any other citizen of Ughelli North Local Government Area.

2. His involvement in the matter was strictly in the interest of peace, security, and the restoration of order, consistent with his constitutional and administrative responsibilities as the Chief Security Officer of the Local Government Area.

3. The administration maintains a zero-tolerance stance against violence, criminality, and acts capable of threatening the peace and security of residents.

The public should also recall that this is the same administration that has taken decisive steps to clear criminal hideouts along the East-West Highway, contributing to the disruption of kidnapping and armed robbery activities along affected corridors.

It is also the same administration that donated a fully equipped operational patrol vehicle to the Police Mobile Force and constructed a new police post to strengthen security operations across the Local Government Area.

These are the actions of an administration committed to protecting lives and property and strengthening the security architecture of Ughelli North — not those of a leadership that encourages or orders violence.

CALL FOR RESPONSIBILITY

The Council therefore calls on the general public, the media, and all well-meaning residents of Ughelli North to disregard the malicious and fabricated report in its entirety.

We further urge those behind the smear campaign to desist from spreading falsehoods and redirect their energy toward constructive engagement that will promote peace, unity, development, and the collective good of Ughelli North Local Government Area.

The people of Ughelli North are discerning, informed, and capable of distinguishing truth from deliberate misinformation.

The Jaro Egbo administration remains focused on its mandate of delivering good governance, strengthening security, promoting development, and maintaining peace across the Local Government Area.

The truth, as always, stands firmly and unapologetically on its own.

Egbo’s Lasting Legacy: From a 1921 Colonial Relic to a Modern Secretariat in Just Two Years

Chairman Jaro Egbo deserves commendation for a landmark achievement that has changed the administrative landscape of Ughelli North Local Government Area: the construction of an ultra-modern Secretariat complex to replace the old colonial-era structure built around 1921/1922.

For over a century, the old Secretariat stood as a relic of a bygone era. While it served generations of administrators and workers, its age and condition had long made it inadequate for the demands of a modern local government administration. Today, that chapter is gradually being closed, as the Egbo administration has delivered a befitting, modern Secretariat complex that gives Ughelli North a new administrative identity.
What makes this achievement particularly remarkable is that it has been accomplished within just two years of the present administration.

But the story does not end with the Secretariat.
Within the same period, the administration has also delivered a modern cottage hospital, demonstrating that its development agenda extends beyond infrastructure for administration to facilities that directly touch the lives and welfare of the people.

From infrastructure to healthcare and other interventions across the Local Government Area, the presence of the Egbo administration is increasingly visible in the nooks and crannies of Ughelli North.

Chairman Jaro Egbo has shown himself to be an agile, mobile and hands-on Chairman, one who is not confined to the office but moves around the Local Government Area, identifying needs, engaging communities and responding to the realities on the ground.

Indeed, Ughelli North now has a Chairman whose presence is felt across the length and breadth of the Local Government Area.
Leadership is not merely about occupying an office; it is about leaving tangible footprints of service.

The transformation of a century-old colonial administrative relic into a modern Secretariat, alongside the provision of healthcare infrastructure, represents a significant chapter in the development story of Ughelli North.

From a structure built around 1921/1922 to a modern Secretariat delivered in just two years, this is more than infrastructure; it is a statement of vision, purposeful leadership and a lasting legacy.
Jaro Egbo’s administration is leaving footprints that future generations will see and remember.

Indeed Jaro Egbo is working, Let support him to do more.
