*Ibiono Ibom Congress Ends Peacefully* .. _stakeholders rally support ahead of 2027 elections_
Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ibiono Ibom Chapter have been called to work together to reposition the party for the 2027 elections.
The call was made during the party chapter congress at the local government headquarters, Oko-Ita.
Welcoming members to the event, Ibiono Ibom Council helmsman, Rt. Hon. Obong Asuakak Umoh, called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the area to continue supporting the ARISE Agenda of His Excellency, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, PhD, and the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in the interest of the people.
According to him, “We have all witnessed what our performing Governor is doing in the state through the ARISE Agenda across various sectors. As a local government area, Ibiono Ibom is a major beneficiary of the Governor’s development programmes. From road constructions to healthcare, compassionate homes, appointments, and several other developmental projects in our area, as well as the sustained efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to stabilise the economy and improve security, the impact is evident.”
Speaking further, the Chairman appealed to party members to accept the outcome of the congress in good faith, noting that the Governor, in his magnanimity, has promised to carrd along both former and newly elected officers.
He thanked Ibiono Ibom stakeholders for ensuring that the earlier ward congresses of the party were hitch-free and pledged his commitment to continue running an inclusive administration that meets the yearnings of the people.
The state representative of the party, Mr. Vincent Borono, who conducted the exercise, informed members that the process was carried out in line with relevant provisions of the party’s constitution. He commended members for their cooperation and acknowledged stakeholders’ support in ensuring a peaceful exercise. He also urged the newly elected chapter executives to promote inclusiveness in order to foster peace and unity within the party.
In their separate goodwill messages, the member representing Ibiono Ibom State Constituency, Hon. Moses Essien, thanked party members for conducting themselves peacefully during the exercise. He called on the newly elected officers to reposition the party ahead of future elections.
Also speaking, the member representing Itu/Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Ime Okon, expressed appreciation to party members for their cooperation and understanding throughout the exercise. He reassured members that they remain critical stakeholders in the affairs of the party and affirmed that Ibiono Ibom’s resolve to support the party and its candidates in the next general elections remains strong.
