The Bayelsa State Tourism Development and Hotel Licensing Agency has announced the official commencement of a statewide grading and classification exercise for hospitality establishments operating within the state.
In a government special announcement issued by the Agency, the exercise will cover hotels, guest houses, restaurants, night clubs, bars and all other hospitality service-providing outfits across Bayelsa State.
According to the statement, the grading and classification exercise is scheduled to begin on Monday, 23rd February, 2026, and will run from 9:00 a.m., Monday through Friday.
The Agency directed all hoteliers, restaurant owners and hospitality operators to ensure full compliance ahead of the inspection. Operators are required to make all necessary documents available and ensure that their operational facilities and service standards conform to approved hospitality guidelines before the arrival of the Agency’s visiting team.
The exercise is aimed at standardizing operations within the hospitality sector, improving service delivery, and strengthening tourism development in Bayelsa State.
