The Navy. Many people, understandably, are confused about what takes place out to sea on an Aircraft Carrier. In short, the ultimate goal is to position our ships in a safe environment, providing us the ability to successfully launch and recover aircraft. The final product of that correlates with many different jobs, which we call, ratings. Aircraft handlers, ordnance technicians, electricians, air traffic controllers, elevator operators, pilots, weatherman, mechanics, engineers, security, hazmat technicians, logistic specialists, medical staff, safety observers and cooks; just to name a few. However, the overall mission cannot be accomplished without the support of all, and that is the Navy’s recipe for Greatness!
