More than 200 NATO Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) staff, family members and friends attended the JWC International Day last weekend.

As one of the biggest community events of the year, the aim of the JWC International Day is to celebrate the unity and strength of the Alliance as well as the JWC's vibrant community, which includes personnel from 21 NATO member states.

The JWC International Day featured a wide range of national stands, cultural exhibits and traditional food and beverages from Allied countries as well as live music.

"I feel very proud to have a role in organizing this wonderful event with my team. A big thank you as well to the participating nations for their impressive efforts. It allows our broader community to come together outside of work, enjoy the day together, and celebrate different cultures," said Ms May Linn, JWC Head of Community Services Section.

Established in 2003 in Stavanger, Norway 🇳🇴, the JWC is one of the most ground-breaking organizations within NATO. A central enabler for warfare development and training, the JWC delivers NATO's largest and most complex multi-domain exercises at the strategic and operational levels.

STEADFAST DETERRENCE 2026 Exercise Control (EXCON) 🛡️⚔️

Meet the incredible team, drawn from across NATO headquarters and the Alliance member nations, who made this outstanding exercise possible!

NATO Joint Warfare Centre’s (JWC) exercise planners, augmentees & trusted agents stand after the conclusion of the exercise on May 13.

The exercise enhanced 's deterrence management and ensured greater realism, warfighting readiness and stronger multi-domain command and control across Allied Command Operations headquarters.

Major General Stefan Lüth, Director-General of the Bundeswehr Office for Defence Planning, visited NATO Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) from May 19 to 21.

Major General Lüth was welcomed by Major General Ruprecht von Butler, Commander JWC, and the JWC's Deputy Chief of Staff for the Support Directorate, Colonel Andreas Unkelbach.

During his visit, Major General Lüth received comprehensive briefings about the JWC's mission, the STEADFAST series of NATO exercises, and the digital transformation process.

In addition, the briefings focused on new ways of exercise delivery with increased realism, advanced opposing forces capability, and better integration of warfare development.

As one of 's key transformation instruments, the JWC supports Allied Command Transformation and Allied Command Operations by linking warfare development and warfighting readiness.

The JWC plays a major role in the implementation and ex*****on of the NATO Maven Smart System (N-MSS) to strengthen the Alliance's warfighting capability in close cooperation with NATO - Allied Command Transformation (ACT).

As one of NATO - Allied Command Transformation (ACT)’s 2026 Beacon Projects, AI in Audacious Training is helping modernize how exercises are designed, controlled, and refined through practical AI-enabled tools that support exercise teams in building faster, more dynamic, and more realistic training scenarios.

Developed in close coordination between the NATO Joint Warfare Centre, the NATO Joint Force Training Centre, and NATO - Allied Command Transformation (ACT), the project is already moving from experimentation toward practical implementation in major NATO exercises.

⚡️ Exercise STEADFAST DETERRENCE 2026 concludes, enhancing NATO's deterrence posture and readiness across all domains ⚡️

✅ The first exercise to implement 's new Campaign Approach to Exercises
✅ Real-time testing of warfighting readiness and multi-domain command and control
✅ 8,000 personnel in locations across Europe and the United States
✅ Participation of all 32 NATO nations and all Allied Command Operations headquarters
✅ Usage of artificial intelligence and automation to enhance exercise delivery
