Kathmandu Film Festival invites Nepali filmmakers to submit original, contemporary stories from across Nepal and the diaspora. Nepal Panorama celebrates independent, authentic voices and spotlights emerging local talent. Films may explore Nepali society, culture, practices, people, and communities—but are not limited to these. Nepal Premieres are encouraged.

Kathmandu Film Festival - OPEN CALL - Short Film (Deadline: 25 September 2026 | 9 Ashoj 2083)

Kathmandu Film Festival invites Nepali filmmakers to submit original, contemporary stories from across Nepal and the diaspora. Nepal Panorama celebrates independent, authentic voices and spotlights emerging local talent. Nepal Panorama is screened as part of the official Kathmandu Film Festival lineup. Films in the official selection receive a cash award of NPR 1,00,000/- each (subject to government taxes).

As part of the Kathmandu Film Festival (KFF), held 13–15 Kartik 2083 (30 October – 1 November 2026), we invite filmmakers, students, storytellers and artists to make a short video of under 5 minutes on the theme - 'My Culture, My Heritage'.

AWARDS
• First prize: NPR 1,50,000 and an award
• Second prize: NPR 1,00,000 and an award
• Third prize: NPR 50,000 and an award
