A story shared by one of our Peer Mentors.

Sometimes, the strongest lessons come from lived experiences. This story invites us to reflect on the stigma surrounding menstruation and the important role boys and men play in creating a society where menstruation is treated with dignity, not shame. As you read, ask yourself: Who should change - the girl, the boy, or the mindset that continues to judge them?

🌿 Building Stronger Minds, Stronger Communities 🌸

On 27 June 2026, women from Chandragiri Municipality–Ward No. 12, Chundevi came together for a meaningful one-day Interaction Session on Stress Management and Self-Management, under the EmpowHER Project, bringing together women from different generations to learn, connect, and inspire one another.

The session created a safe and supportive space where participants shared their experiences, discussed everyday challenges, and explored practical ways to manage stress, strengthen emotional well-being, and develop positive self-management skills. The intergenerational dialogue encouraged mutual understanding, respect, and learning, highlighting the unique strengths and perspectives of women across all ages.

By fostering open conversations and shared learning, the program reinforced the importance of self-care, resilience, and solidarity in building healthier families and stronger communities.

We sincerely thank all the participants, facilitators, and local stakeholders for their enthusiastic participation and valuable contributions. Together, we continue to promote the well-being, confidence, and empowerment of women across generations.

💜 When women support one another across generations, they create lasting change for families and communities.

Three days. Countless stitches. Endless possibilities. 🧵💚

Over three inspiring days (24-26) June 2026, the project titled “Empowering Young Women's Health and Climate Resilience in Nepal” brought together 19 local women from Dakshinkali Municipality to learn far more than just reusable pad making. They built skills, confidence, and connections that support economic empowerment, menstrual health and hygiene, sustainable menstrual practices, climate resilience, and self-reliance. From carefully hand-stitching their first pads to confidently operating sewing machines—many for the very first time—every stitch represented learning, courage, and growth. Participants explored different pad patterns, encouraged one another, shared techniques, celebrated successes, and proved that learning becomes even more meaningful when done together.

This training wasn't just about making reusable pads. It was about creating informed choices, reducing menstrual waste, strengthening livelihoods, and empowering women with practical skills that can benefit their families, communities, and the environment.

Together, we stitched confidence, dignity, sustainability, and a more resilient future—one pad at a time. 🌿✨

🌸 Empowering Women, Strengthening Communities 🌸

From 20–22 June 2026, we successfully organized a 3-day local-level workshop for women of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Ward No. 14 (Kuleshwor), under the EmpowHER Project, bringing together local women to learn, share, and grow as leaders in their communities.

The workshop covered key topics including Women's Empowerment, Leadership Development, Prevention of Domestic Violence, Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI), and Stress Management. Through interactive discussions, group activities, and experience sharing, participants enhanced their knowledge, built self-confidence, strengthened leadership skills, and explored practical strategies for promoting equality, preventing violence, and maintaining mental well-being.

The three days were filled with meaningful dialogue, mutual learning, and a shared commitment to creating safer, more inclusive, and resilient communities where women can thrive and lead with confidence.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all the participants, facilitators, local representatives, and partners whose active engagement and support made this workshop a great success. Together, we continue to build empowered women, stronger families, and inclusive communities.

✨ When women are empowered, communities prosper.

HEARTFELT CONDOLENCES

We thank God for the life of Ms. Rebecca Sinha. She faithfully served as President of NMBS (YWCA of Nepal) for many years.

She contributed significantly providing good leadership and guidance for the work of NMBS (YWCA of Nepal). She completed her earthly journey and has gone to her eternal home on June 17, 2026. On the one hand we miss her presence in our midst but on the other hand we rejoice that she is now in heaven with God whom she loved and served through her life, word and work.

We pray that God will grant peace, comfort, strength and courage to her husband, her son, her family and all loved ones.

🌿 Empowering young women with knowledge for healthier periods and a healthier planet.🌎

🌸 Empowering young women through awareness and dialogue! 💙

An engaging MHM session covered menstrual health, dignified menstruation, healthy menstrual practices, myth-busting, experience sharing, and climate-friendly menstrual choices. 🌿

Our Peer Mentors actively challenged menstrual myths through storytelling performances and led a four-corner exhibition exploring menstrual health, product choices, the link between menstruation and climate, and the impacts of climate change.
