Organic Mountain Flavor (OMF) is a joint venture company, which intends to fill in the market gap and optimize the production value chain of ginger and other spices. This company cooperates directly with hundreds of farmers from western regions (Surkhet, Salyan) of Nepal. Purchased spices are subsequently manufactured, packed and labeled in company´s own factory. For OMF high quality of its produc
ts is the first priority. There for it is focused on organically cultivated ginger only. Also the processing has to follow the highest standards. To prove and display the prime quality, all products will be labeled by ECOCERT, the worldwide recognized certifying body. OMF is a social business, thus it is financially independent and self sustainable entity. However, making profit is not its only objective. Its mission is to improve the lives of rural people in Nepal through appropriate market creation, and by promoting ethic business rules, fair and people friendly practices in domestic market. There for it implements regulations enhancing stability and independence of the local farmers with great focus on local women. This business project is unique project of cooperation between local and international companies with great support of local municipality, national government and international developing agency.
