ELP is developing a resource to help address harmful narratives about language revitalization. In this resource, we will unpack common dominant myths and narratives about Indigenous languages and language revitalization. We will offer ways to respond to and reframe these narratives.
We want this resource to be as useful as possible to people around the world. We recognize that we are a small team, and we probably haven’t heard all the narratives and myths that are out there. As we develop this resource, we would like to hear from you, if you would like to share your experiences.
We invite the ELP community, gently and with humility, to share any harmful narratives or statements you have heard about your language, your language community, or language revitalization (in your context or in general).
We recognize that this can be very painful to remember and talk about. The most important thing is your well-being. If you do not want to share anything, that’s okay. We will keep this form open for the rest of 2026. You can always return to this later, or not at all.
